The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed tight end Ernest Wilford to a one-year contract. He rejoins the team after being cut on Sept. 4. As previously reported by National Football Post, wide receiver John Matthews has been waived. Wilford was originally a fourth-round draft pick of the Jaguars in 2004 as a wide receiver, and five of his six NFL seasons have been in Jacksonville. He signed with Miami as an unrestricted free agent in 2008 and played in seven games for the Dolphins. He rejoined the Jaguars prior to the 2009 season and played in 15 games at tight end with seven starts, finishing with 11 receptions for 123 yards and one touchdown.
