As Jaguars training camp approaches, there will be many of guys fighting for jobs. There will be plenty of camp battles, and plenty of cuts made. A lot of guys will go home saddened, and disappointed that their hard work and efforts was not merely enough. There will be plenty of storylines to follow this summer, and Jaguars 101 will have it covered.

I recently asked senior writer John Oehser of Jaguars.com what kind of shot he felt young receiver Brian Robiskie had of making the Jaguars final roster. This was his response:

"I think he has a real chance – a better chance than many think. He’s certainly not discussed much, but the Jaguars like him and Mike Mularkey has talked a lot about his consistency. He may have to beat out Lee Evans to do it, but it’s probably too early to talk about specifically who he’ll have to beat out. That should shake out in training camp and preseason."

Ultimately, I do think Robiskie makes the team as a bottom of the depth chart guy. With him being 6'3, 209 lbs., I think his size could become an asset at the position. With Head Coach Mike Mularkey already raving about his consistency, this would give Gabbert a big bodied target down the field in 2012. Robiskie is a former second round pick of the Cleveland Browns, but has not had a lot of production in his early career.

Last year, he battled injuries and never made it on the field for Jacksonville. At only 24 years old he could definitely be a player to watch this summer, especially under the supervision of receivers coach Jerry Sullivan. Time will tell, but it is time for certain players to start reaching their potential as a pro, and this is one of them. One thing that embraces optimism with the roster this year is the depth the team has at wide receiver.

Expensive Scobee contract worth every penny

Kickers are the butt of far too many jokes at all levels of football, but if you don't have one, you're missing out. The Jaguars started the 2011 season with Matt Turk as their punter, and he was nothing short of a failure with the team. Nick Harris was called in to take Turk's job, and he did a pretty good job in fixing the Jaguars' punting problems. Place kickers...

Coutu played in the final regular-season game for the Buffalo Bills last season. He missed his only field-goal attempt. The Jaguars signed Coutu in May, making him the team's kicker while they negotiated with Scobee. The Jags signed Scobee to a four...

Justin Blackmon’s DUI isn’t helping contract negotiations

Getty Images According to Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union, contract talks between the Jacksonville Jaguars and wide receiver Justin Blackmon are being held up because of his recent DUI arrest. The Jaguars clearly want to make sure they protect themselves in case Blackmon makes another bone-headed decision off the field, like Marshawn Lynch of the Seahawks.
