The Jaguars are remaining busy during the NFL lockout, working diligently at various locations, including some work at a local Jacksonville track for cornerbacks like Rashean Mathis and several other players, according to the Florida Times-Union. Per the report, players work out in groups by position. That includes workouts led by defensive end Aaron Kampman, quarterback David Garrard, linebacker Darryl Smith, center Brad Meester and offensive tackle Eugene Monroe, among others.
They also do installation of offensive and defensive plays derived from playbooks. “Guys look great,” Kampman said. “They seem to be enjoying the opportunity to intrinsically be motivated. I think it’s really turning the light bulb on for a lot of guys.” The Jaguars say they are taking a low-key approach to their regimen. “The way our organization is, the way the Jaguars [are run], when it’s time for us to be up there, the coaches will call,” Mathis said. “We’re not trying to showcase, we’re not trying to make it a media frenzy that we got turned away from our organization.”
