Kansas City Chiefs’ running back Jamaal Charles will probaby miss Friday night’s preseason game versus the San Fransico 49ers due to a foot sprain. Head coach Andy Reid told Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com however, that Charles would play if the game counted.
The Chiefs are smart to hold Charles back. The preseason is usually resreved for players who aren’t going to make the roster to try and shine to earn a roster spot. Charles is in no danger of losing his starting running back role. He has a 5.8 yards per carry average currently which leads all running backs in the NFL right now.
