PLAYERS: Dez Bryant
TEAMS: Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett feels like wide receiver Dez Bryant has been getting better each week.
“We’ll learn from that particular play, but he has a tremendous competitive spirit,” coach Jason Garrett said, via ESPNDallas.com. “Anybody who watches football and knows anything about it – or even if you don’t know anything about it – and you watch that guy play, you see his passion for the game and his competitive spirit.
“Keep going, keep learning. … He’s growing and growing and getting better every week.”
Bryant did look a little better this past week, than he did during the Cowboys’ loss to the Bears. But at the end of the day, he lacks the focus to be able to cut down on all the drops he’s made this year.

Running game flexes muscle with Costa

When Jason Garrett took the head coaching job of the Dallas Cowboys, he preached the familiar sermon of nearly every coach who has ever taken a job in the sport. He said he wanted a physical football team that was difficult to play against. He wanted pads in practice and competition. He wanted a more physical team that was prepared to participate and emerge victorious in a street...

Cowboys not passing test through five weeks

IRVING, Texas The evidence keeps rolling in: The gap between the intellect of "teacher" Jason Garrett and the education of his "students" is massive especially when the pop quizzes that need to be passed are represented by Dallas Cowboys opportunities in opponents' territory. Jimmy Johnson, a Garrett mentor, used to say, "You don't need to be nervous...

Felix Jones: The stars are aligned for a big week

Those who have been holding on to Cowboys RB Felix Jones might finally get a chance to use him in Week Seven. ESPN’s ED Werder reported Monday that DeMarco Murray is doubtful against the Panthers after suffering a foot injury against the Ravens. I say “might” because doubtful can sometimes turn into questionable, but I doubt it will in this case. It gets even better for Jones...

DeMarco Murray moving around on a scooter

According to Ed Werder of ESPN, Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray has been moving around with a scooter. He told Werder that he’s doing it because he can, not because he has to.I honestly don’t believe Murray. I’m sure anyone with a torn ligament in their foot wouldn’t want to walk. Cowboys need more plays from defense

When we look at splash plays every week, we are looking for 2 in particular that are extra special. We are not here to thumb our noses at pressures or run stuffs, but it sure seems that the name of the game is really sacks and takeaways. We especially love DeMarcus Ware's strip-sack the best, as it accomplishes both. But with a 2-3 record and another game with no takeaways,...

(Eds: APNewsNow. With AP Photos.) By STEPHEN HAWKINS AP Sports Writer Felix Jones finally gets a chance to be the first option again for the Dallas Cowboys. Romo explains final play in Sunday's game

Tony Romo isn't the type of quarterback to call out his teammates, even if he thought they did something incorrectly. Following what was the final offensive play the Cowboys ran Sunday in Baltimore, wide receivers Kevin Ogletree and Miles Austin jogged back to the line of scrimmage despite a running clock, likely costing their team an extra play that could've improved the...
