Jason Witten told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he thought the Dallas Cowboys should draft a tight end and he was happy they landed Gavin Escobar. “Oh, yeah. I did,” Witten said. “I think that’s a big part of where we’re seeing our football team go. I think, more than anything else, I looked at it and said it’s showing there’s a commitment to this package and growing that. “When you take a guy that high, that’s something that you obviously see happening.” The Cowboys didn’t need a tight end in the second round.  It was a waste of a pick.  They should have taken a safety in the first round and then Travis Frederick in the second round.  They have too many other glaring issues to use a 2nd round pick on a tight end. I know some teams believe in drafting the best player available, but the Cowboys drafted for what they thought were their most pressing needs.   Need NFL Tickets?
