Detroit Lions offensive tackle Jeff Backus has indicated that he’s right on schedule after undergoing offseason bicep surgery four months ago.
“It’s just building back the strength and getting back into the football stuff,” Backus told Detroitlions.com.
Backus has been working hard this offseason rehabbing at the Lions team facility, as well as participating in offseason workouts.
The 34 year-old Backus says he’s feeling great physically.
“I’m not in there doing some of the things the younger guys are doing, but I think at this point in anyone’s career 12 years in, they’re workout is a little bit different.”
This is great news for the Lions and their fans as they attempt to get back to the playoffs for the second straight season in 2012.
