The St. Louis Rams have been one of the most active teams in the NFL during this year’s free agency period, having hosted numerous free agents and having signed eight of them, including cornerback Cortland Finnegan, center Mike Wells, wide receiver Steve Smith, and defensive tackle Kendall Langford.
It is now rumored that the Rams could have genuine interest in signing former Jets and Steelers wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery. In addition to having Cotchery visit their facility five days ago, the Rams have another connection to Cotchery as well: their new offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer worked with Cotchery for five seasons when they were both with the Jets. Signing Cotchery would make sense in that it would give the Rams a veteran presence alongside Steve Smith in their wide receiver corps to help make up for the void left behind by Brandon Lloyd.

According to the latest NFL mock draft on SportingNews.com, if Alabama running back Trent Richardson is available when the St. Louis Rams are on the clock with the sixth overall pick, they won’t hesitate to take him.
If Richardson isn’t available, they’d likely take Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon. Either way they can’t go wrong.
I would think the Rams would...
The Pittsburgh Steelers made a second free agent signing on Wednesday and this time it was one of their own as Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News is reporting via Twitter that wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery has signed a two-year deal to return to Pittsburgh.
WR Jerricho Cotchery has agreed to a two-year deal with the Steelers, per source. #nyj— Manish Mehta(@TheJetsStream...
Immediately after it was announced that the Pittsburgh Steelers had signed unrestricted free agent wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery to a two year deal I speculated on Twitter that I would be surprsiede if the contract totaled out over $3 million. Ed Bouchette tweets tonight that the deal does indeed total out at $3 million.
Will be surprised if Cotchery two-year deal totals out...
Steve Smith signed a three-year extension with the Panthers on Tuesday. If he is able to see it through, he’ll be baby-punching in Carolina until the ripe old age of 36. Were it not for Smith, the most heralded player in Panthers history might be Jake Delhomme (Cam Newton has arguably already overtaken him, but Cam has only played one season and sh*tty as Delhomme could be, he...
Earlier this season, the Raiders signed former Rams LCB Ron Bartell to a one year $3 million contract. The reviews of Bartell were favorable on his time in St Louis but I wanted to get an idea for him myself.
I watched all the defensive snaps for two games, both in 2010 because he only played part of one game in 2011 before sustaining a fracture to one of the vertebrae in his neck...
Cornerback Cortland Finnegan has mentioned frequently the draw head coach Jeff Fisher was in his decision to sign with the Rams as an unrestricted free agent. But Fisher wasn't the only reason.
While in New York to represent the Rams in the unveiling of Nike's new uniforms, Finnegan said that defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was also a major part of his motivation, even...
Hot News for OT Adam Goldberg
According Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, North Alabama cornerback Janoris Jenkins was in St. Louis visiting with the Rams earlier on Monday and will not head to Indianapolis on Monday to visit with the Colts.
Jenkins has the talent to be a first round pick, but his off the field conduct could end up dropping him into the second round.
In a flurry of free agent activity the last 2 days, the Steelers have secured the services of another available player.
Ok, perhaps “flurry” is going a little overboard but when it comes to free agents and the Steelers, any signing is a big signing. There is none bigger this offseason so far than the return of Jerricho Cotchery.
Multiple sources including Rotoworld and TribLive...
The Steelers have kept one of their own in bringing back Jerricho Cotchery. Rotoworld is reporting that the Steelers have re-signed Cotchery to a two year deal. This is good news for the Steelers.
The Steelers still have to worry but very little about Mike Wallace’s situation. If Wallace were to leave the Steelers would still have 3 good receivers left on the squad. Also...
According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery to a two-year deal.
With veteran receiver Mike Wallace not planning to show up for OTA’s, the Steelers might be forced to rely more on a guy like cotchery if Wallace’s hold out carries on into the season.
Cotchery was able to haul in 16 receptions for over...
