From Rocky Top to Carrot Top: Derek Dooley heads to Dallas According to Rowan Kavner of DallasCowboys.com, Derek Dooley will become the Dallas Cowboys new Wide Receiver coach… Dooley, who was a position coach alongside Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett for two years with the Dolphins, will reportedly get the job after interviewing with Garrett. Dooley was the tight ends coach and Garrett was the quarterbacks coach in Miami for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. While the majority of Cowboys staff watched the Senior Bowl practices at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, most of Garrett’s time in Mobile, Ala., was spent interviewing potential position coaches, including Dooley. The Cowboys still need to fill positions for running backs coach and tight ends coach, and the leading candidates for those positions appear to be Sam Gash and Wes Phillips, respectively. After raising eyebrows with Jon Gruden-related hires, beginning with Bill Callahan and including Monte Kiffin, Rod Marinelli and Rich Bisaccia, Cowb...

  • Awesome... Now if JJ could just make some player personnel moves that didn't suck... Hey Jerry, here is a great idea. Get the numbers for Dallas Morning News sportswriter Rick Gosselin and Sportsradio 1310 host Norm Hitzges. Once you get those numbers, pick up your phone (that thing on your desk with all the numbers) and call them. Ask them for a list of players that you should draft. (write them down so you don't forget) When it's draft day, get your list and a big crayon. When a player is drafted, draw a big line through his name. When it is your pick, take the highest rated player that is left on their list. Keep doing that until someone tells you the draft is over. Let's face it, your track record on drafting is not real good. Had you done what I am suggesting years ago, your little turd that plays in the big "stadjum" wouldn't be so painful to watch. Just an idea!!!
  • yea yea yea whatever the problem is "ROMO"
  • romo, huh... kinda hard to complete passes when the offensive line can't block. take a look at his numbers.. they are outstanding, even with inferior talent around him.
  • People keep running down Tony and that is crap. Tony is running for his life and the only reciever he can count on is Jason. The defense can,t stop anyone so he is continualy playing from behind. The only problem with Tony is that he is trying to do to much. His recievers can't run the proper route and catch the ball to. It pains me to say it because JJ is the best owner in the league, and there lies the problem he is not the best GM. The one constant with the Boys is JJ as GM after the ego clash with coach Johnson.

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Bill Callahan is being elevated to the position of offensive playcaller for the 2013 season.
