If you were hoping that Tim Tebow would be suiting up for the Dallas Cowboys in 2013, your dreams were dashed by Jerry Jones on Wednesday. During an hour-long conference call with season-ticket holders, the Cowboys owner and general manager was asked if the team has had any luck in acquiring the former Denver Broncos and New York Jets quarterback. Jones didn't seem interested in talking about any backup quarterbacks not named Kyle Orton. "We feel really good about Kyle Orton," Jones responded. "And that's where it all starts and stops right there. He will be used differently to some degree than we'll use Tony Romo. But he's very capable of winning big games and we know how important that backup slot is, especially if it's temporary if you don't have Romo. So we're pretty set at quarterback and we wish Tim all the luck and all the best in the world. But we're going forward there. What we need to look at at quarterback is what we might be doing with the third quarterback, and that remains to be seen." The Cowboys haven't drafted a quarterback since 2009 when they selected Stephen McGee in the fourth round. According to Jones, the Cowboys "didn't see a quarterback that we wanted to invest the time in" that was available when they were on the clock during the third, fourth or fifth rounds of this year's draft.

Moon: Tebow won't cut it in CFL

Warren Moon, who spent six seasons in the Canadian Football League, believes that Tim Tebow has no greater chance of success in that league than he does in the NFL.

Is former Jets QB Tim Tebow really that awful?

With the recent release of QB Tim Tebow by the NY Jets, it got me wondering just how bad he really was. After taking several things into account I have decided that despite what his detractors say he was not all that bad. If you just look at the usual passing stats themselves, you will see very pedestrian numbers. He completed 173 of 361 for a 47.9 completion percentage, which is...

Tebow quotes Scripture after being cut loose by Jets

Tim Tebow wasn't available for comment after being unceremoniously cut by the New York Jet early Monday morning, but the mishandled quarterback did post a Scripture verse on his Twitter account. "Proverbs 3:5-6:trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight," he...

Tim Tebow To Open Three Chicken Joints In Florida

It appears that Tim Tebow ride in the NFL came to an end, as the N.Y. Jets cut him from the team on Monday, but according to a report, Tebow is now looking at a new career.According to the Tampa Bay Tribune, Tebow will be opening up three chicken restaurants. The report goes on to say that Tebow will invest money into three PDQ [People Dedicated to Quality], which specialize in...

Tim Tebow: Most Appropriate Landing Spots

Never before have we seen someone so celebrated and loved, win a playoff game over a storied franchise, and be traded away like he was nothing to a circus of a team only to sit behind a QB that has no business starting a game in the NFL.  That was, of course, until we met Tim Tebow. Tebow was not only a QB in the NFL, he was a savior.  He inspired millions of people across the...

Taiwanese Animation takes on Tim Tebow getting cut by the Jets (Video)

With the news that Tim Tebow was cut by the New York Jets, we all figured that the fine folks over at Next Media Animation in Taiwan would have their own take on it. The below video might be the best thing that you see all week....

Tim Tebow clears waivers, hits free agency

Former Jets quarterback Tim Tebow through waivers unclaimed today and is now officially a free agent.  He can sign with any team at any time. Just because no teams put in a claim for Tebow doesn’t mean no one is interested.  Now that he’s a free agent, we’ll find out if anyone really wants to really sign him.   Need NFL Tickets?

Jets’ GM says they didn’t think about asking Tebow to change positions

New York Jets general manager John Idzik was a guest on Mike and Mike in the Morning and was asked if they had thought about asking Tim Tebow to play another position. “No, we didn’t,” Idzik said, per “Tim, while I was here, he was slated as a quarterback.” Of course the Jets didn’t think about it because all they wanted to do was get rid of Tebow...

From Geno To Tebow – Jets Circus Shrinks In Size

The simultaneous roster changes that marked Geno Smith’s arrival and Tim Tebow’s exit show that John Idzik’s Jets do not value ESPN cameras, newspaper headlines and jersey sales over the notion of putting pieces in place to win. The Jets never had a plan for Tebow beyond hoping and praying that his abilities could somehow find a functional place within a sixty minute game....

3 Reasons Why Tim Tebow Was Doomed In New York Even Before He Got Here…

The Tim Tebow saga is finished with the Jets. He has now played for two NFL teams and it doesn’t appear as if his ride is stopping there. He is obviously looking to still be an NFL quarterback and I won’t be surprised when a team probably will give him sort of a shot. He might even end up in the same position he was in with the Jets, a situation in which he wasn’t ever meant...

With Leather’s Watch This: Our Favorite Exotic Dancers Say Goodbye To Tim Tebow

By now, we all know that Tim Tebow was unceremoniously released by the New York Jets after what can best be described as one pooptastic season with the team. Tebow barely saw the field for anything other than punt protection, and the infamous New York sports media routinely gave him the business, as if he were the sole problem with the franchise. However, lost in the debate as to...

Top 10 takeaways from the Tim Tebow release from the Jets

Cue the Sad Hulk Piano Music 10) It was entirely unfair that one of the least accurate QBs in NFL history never got a real chance to be inaccurate in New York 9) There's no telling how the Jets' punt team is going to be able to overcome this loss 8) The release was inevitable, given Tebow's apparent failure to sell tickets 7) This entire saga is going to be all of...

Klein should learn from the Tebow QB experiment

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Heres the thing that doesnt make a shred of sense: Collin Klein is a smart guy. Surely, hes watched enough of Tim Tebow to know that this is not the path that lands you at Candy Castle in the end. Surely, hes seen enough NFL games to know that quarterbacks whove been trained to run first, run second, and throw third usually wind up getting their knees bent like...

Is Geno Smith’s skin thick enough to survive in New York?

With the release of Tim Tebow the New York Jets have one fewer distraction in their quarterback ranks heading into offseason work for the 2013 season. Judging by the recent behaviour of their new addition to the position that might be a good thing. While both relatively innocuous incidents his decision to depart (and then to change his mind) the draft last week coupled with the firing...

GM John Idzik: Jets will have 'open competition' at quarterback

The day after the New York Jets released Tim Tebow, general manager John Idzik indicated that any one of the five remaining quarterbacks will get a shot to be the Week 1 starter. With one down, that leaves Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith, David Garrard, Greg McElroy and Matt Simms to grab the top quarterback spot. "It’s an open competition," Idzik said on ESPN radio’s Mike...
