New York Jets coach Rex Ryan said Monday he is not ready to decide on who will start at quarterback for this Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ryan benched starter Mark Sanchez after he struggled against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. After completing 10 of 21 passes for 97 yards with three interceptions, Ryan brought in third-stringer Greg McElroy. Backup Tim Tebow was inactive with a rib injury. McElroy completed five of seven passes for 29 yards and the game-winning touchdown pass as the Jets edged the Cardinals 7-6. Ryan wants to further evaluate the quarterback situation during the week before making a commitment. "I definitely need a little more time to make that decision," Ryan said. "I'm comfortable and confident in all three guys. ... I'll make that decision as the week goes on." He did not rule out Tebow, but wants to make sure he is healthy. Ryan activated him to play the week prior, but did not feel comfortable enough with Tebow's health to clear him against Arizona. "When you look at Tim, he's a proven winning quarterback in this league," Ryan said. "... I make decisions on what gives us the best chance to be successful. This week it's going to be about competing and beating Jacksonville." Ryan added that Tebow talked him into clearing him the first time but was not going to let that happen again. Offensive coordinator Tony Sparano and quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh will help Ryan in his evaluation this week.
