Mike Silva's Sports Media Watchdog:
The day after the Giants paraded down the “Canyon of Heroes,” Jets fans awoke to this full page ad in the Daily News.
There was some debate about whether the Jets did the right thing by congratulating the team that trashed talked them the last few weeks, and often is looked at as their big brother.
I don’t have a problem with it, and think it was the right thing to do. The Jets should do a mea culpa after all their trash talk this season. Covering up the Giants Super Bowl trophies when the two teams played in December looked petty. The mural wasn’t even on the field; it was located in an area only the players and media could see. When you share a stadium with the other team, there is going to be paraphernalia of your neighbor. They always had the option of building a stadium out in Queens to prevent the landlord/tenant feel of the Meadowlands. The Jets were the ones that left Shea Stadium for Giants Stadium, to begin with.
It also could be used as a motivation tool for Rex Ryan. Cl...

When the New York Jets brought in Tony Sparano as their offensive coordinator, it was a more than a welcome change from Brian Schottenheimer. However, the original perception was that Sparano would be coupled with an offensive coach to oversee the passing game and quarterback position.
The first name being thrown around was Todd Haley…didn’t happen. He is now the offensive coordinator...
We’re sure you remember the video we showed you earlier this week of the dumb blond at the New York Giants Super Bowl victory parade. When asked by a local reporter who she was there to see, she yelled “Sanchez!”
Obviously, she was referring to ever-so-dreamy New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Well, after becoming an Internet laughingstock, Sanchez girl decided to do...
The New York Jets had a very bad end to their season. They finished at 8-8 and had a lot of in fighting. Mark Sanchez their quarterback has taken a beating as well as the head coach Rex Ryan. I think Rex Ryan deserves a chance to turn it around and he will get that chance. I also don't totally blame the quarterback Mark Sanchez. Here is what I think the biggest needs...
No matter what you think of the coach’s braggart tendencies, the diva attitude exhibited by some of the players or even if you have a negative view of the entire organization, for that matter, you have to hand it to the New York Jets for having the class of taking out a full-page ad in [...]
The Jets have maintained that Santonio Holmes was going to return next season despite his highly publicized rift with quarterback Mark Sanchez. Now that Holmes is still a Jet Thursday, there's little doubt he's going anywhere.
The Jets have maintained Santonio Holmes was going to return next season despite his highly publicized rift with quarterback Mark Sanchez. Since Holmes was on the Jets' roster Wednesday -- two days after the start of the NFL's 2012 waiver wire period -- $7.5 million of the wide receiver's 2013 salary is now fully guaranteed.
Perhaps trying to buy back a bit of dignity, the Jets have praised their co-tenants for doing what they haven’t done since man walked on the moon.
On Wednesday, Gang Green took out an ad on a special edition of the New York Daily News, congratulating the Giants organization on their stunning victory in Super Bowl XLVI.
It appears Santonio Holmes is sticking around — just as the New York Jets said he would. By remaining on the roster through the second...
From the moment the season ended, the New York Jets said divisive wide receiver Santonio Holmes wasn't going anywhere. Now it's official.
