According to a NY Post source, Tim Tebow will be traded or released after this season. But believe it or not, there are 10 other Jets on the field at any time that Tebow is – no matter how much ESPN doesn’t like it.
Tebow has never lined up with the kicking team (but he is the personal protector on the punt team), but the Jets are giving some thought to bringing a different kind of attention and spark to next year’s squad. This week, they tried out Havard Rugland, a 27-year old YouTube sensation from Norway. Rugland became internet famous with this video that was uploaded in September. He has since paired up with former NFL kicker Michael Husted who has begun coaching him in an effort to get Rugland on an NFL squad.
Rugland, who has no American football experience, nails 60-yard field goals to soccer-style scissor kicks and volleys with footballs.
Fellow Norwegian Jan Stenerud is one of three kickers in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He kicked in the NFL for 19 seasons with the Chiefs, Packers and Vikings.
