Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has been informed that the New York Jets have interest in free agent WR Darrius Heyward-Bey. Florio adds that it remains “unclear at this point whether Heyward-Bey has interest in the Jets.” Over the weekend, Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted that they were in the process of working on a deal for a receiver and Heyward-Bey’s name was mentioned as a speculative option. Florio has confirmed that with a source that Heyward-Bey is not being targeted by the Colts. There hasn’t been a lot of buzz surrounding Heyward-Bey since he was cut loose by the Raiders last week. New York could really use another receiver in their offense, but it’s hard to say what they’re getting with him at this point. Heyward-Bey is only 26-year-old and has spent a number of years with a disappointing Raiders team, so there’s a chance he could be a quality addition in the right environment. According to Pro Football Focus, Heyward-Bey has graded out as an above-average receiver the pas...

Rex Ryan Says He Regrets Super Bowl Guarantee, Would Pick That Prediction As His ‘Do-Over’

Rex Ryan says he regrets the time he guaranteed that the Jets would win the Super Bowl. Just one question: Which time was that, Rex? Ryan has predicted that his New York Jets would make it to the Super Bowl about as many years as he’s coached the team, with the most recent guarantee coming in 2011. The Jets, meanwhile, have only regressed since Ryan’s first two seasons, when...

To Trade Revis Or Not To Trade Revis? That Is The New York Jets' Question

To Trade Revis Or Not To Trade Revis? That Is The New York Jets' Question I hope you're sitting down for this, but Darrelle Revis is still in the news. Rex Ryan spoke to the New York Post today and was quoted as saying, “I know for a fact that we’re not actively trying to trade Darrelle Revis." I love that he went with the full-name to show how serious he is...

Rex Ryan Says Mark Sanchez Will Take the “First Snap” For Jets

Tale of the Tape: Nick Roach

At the end of last week, the Raiders signed former Chicago Bears LB Nick Roach to a 4 year deal worth up to $13 million.  The 6’1 235 lbs linebacker played as the Bears starting strong-side linebacker last year (strong side is the side of the line where the tight end lines up) for most of the season but filled in at middle linebacker for the last four games of the season when...

Bucs players can’t talk with Darrelle Revis

The Buccaneers appear to be inching closer to a deal with the New York Jets for cornerback Darrelle Revis. Some reports already have the Bucs penciled in as having a deal in place to offer Revis which seems logical. Many have even suggested that Revis is aware of this said deal. However, with the league’s anti-tampering rules, it can not be the Bucs front office that reaches out...

(Editors Note: Sorry for the lack of posting recently, I was away on vacation. Expect a regular dose of content going forward.) My New York Jets have become the butt of many jokes recently, and rightfully so.  Things got so bad this season that Fireman Ed, their unofficial cheerleader, stepped down. The season culminated with the the firing of General Manager Mike Tannebaum, the...

Jeffrey Lurie: Philadelphia will push for Super Bowl if New York goes well

The Super Bowl has traditionally been held in a city with warm weather, or at least been played in a dome when it’s been in a cold city. But that’s about to change next year when the Super Bowl will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey — an outdoor stadium which serves as the home field for the New York Jets and Giants. Philadelphia Eagles owner/chairman Jeffrey Lurie...

If Dennis Rodman can hang out with Kim Jong Un in North Korea while watching a basketball game then Tim Tebow can play in the Arena League. Come on! Crazier things have happened, right? Right? Apparently the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League have offered the beleaguered quarterback a job should he become available and can't find any suitors in the...
