Apparently the plethora of MRI results that were sent to numerous doctors have come back to the New York Jets and it is not good news.

As our Senior Analyst, Jon Wilhelm, wrote earlier today, Holmes is indeed done for the year.  Head Coach Rex Ryan announced today that the MRI revealed a Lisfranc injury to the foot of Holmes that will require season ending surgery.  If you did not think the Jets season was done before, this will probably be the proverbial nail in the coffin.

Now, far be it from me to declare a season over after only 4 games, but does even the most optimistic Jets fan believe they can recover from the loss of Holmes?  Can you find many that would admit to thinking they were still alive after the Revis injury?  You would be hard-pressed to find either.

Their will likely be only a few questions left in the 2012 season for the Jets.  How bad can things get, and how long until we see Tim Tebow get a much increased workload?

Even if you don’t think Sanchez is the biggest reason for the team’s lackluster play, the situation is screaming for Tebow, isn’t it?  With the team going nowhere fast, even if you don’t make the complete QB change to Tebow, he has to touch the ball more.  Prior to the season, we all wondered if Sanchez would make it through the first four weeks of the season and keep his starting job.  Sanchez has not played well, but with a healthy team, he might have been able to hold onto the starting position.  But with all that has transpired, I don’t think Tebow will get less than 30% of the snaps come week 17.  With the lack of offensive play makers, we could be seeing even more than that, and it could happen much sooner as well.

We want to win, everybody we have...

San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Jets: Hero and Zero of the Game

Not long after the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets clashed at the Meadowlands, it was explicitly clear which team prepared their team for victory and the other struggling to find answers. By the end, the sound of victory struck with profundity as the Niners hopped a flight headed west with a 34-0 victory in hand. After a tough loss to Minnesota, the 49ers embarked upon their...

Let the quarterback controversy winds start blowing. Jets' owner Woody Johnson may start pushing the team to play Tim Tebow over Mark Sanchez. Ryan says Sanchez our guy, Holmes ruled out for week 5

New York Jets’ coach Rex Ryan reiterated during a Monday press conference that Mark Sanchez is their quarterback. “He’s definitely our guy,” Ryan insisted. “I know this is killing him. Why the Rex Ryan era must end

I’ll start this off by saying that Rex Ryan is my favorite Jets coach since Bill Parcells. He’s a great personality, knows how to build a defense, and knows how to motivate his players. The success he had in his first two years as Jets head coach, bringing them to two straight AFC Championship games, was nothing short of marvelous. However. Rex Ryan is stubborn. Too stubborn...

Carlos Rogers: The Jets defense didn’t want to play the game

After a week four thrashing of the New York Jets, one would think that the 49ers would be done with Rex Ryan’s group for some time to come. That apparently is not the case as defensive back Carlos Rodgers continues to taunt the Jets. Click Here To Read This Story

Rex Ryan doesn’t rule out bringing in Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens or Plaxico Burress

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan made an appearance on 98.7 ESPN New York with The Michael Kay Show (via SportsRadioInterviews.com) and was asked if he’ll give Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens or Plaxico Burress a look. “I think right now, with the way Mike Tannenbaum is and the scouting department, we look at all the possibilities and things, but I think the big thing, hopefully...

Report: Jets owner could push for Tebow

Just when New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez received a vote of confidence from his head coach, the team's owner is reportedly pushing for a change, according to an ESPNNewYork.com report. 49ers’ Carlos Rodgers says the Jets quit

Jason Whitney49ers’ cornerback Carlos Rodgers said the Jets quit I’m going to go out on a limb and agree with Carlos Rodgers statement of saying the Jets quit. The San Francisco 49ers’ defense stifled the New York Jets in anything they tried to do. In fact it was the first shutout home loss for the Jets since 1977.  Mark Sanchez barely threw for over 10o yards, and the running...

Despite the loss of one of the best defensive players in the NFL in Darrelle Revis and their best offensive player in Santonio Holmes, Rex Ryan still feels the Jets have enough talent to make an impact.
