Jets opening training camp tickets sold out in three minutes

Tickets for New York Jets training camp went on sale on Monday morning for the sessions that begin on Saturday. The non-public practices start on Wednesday.

It only took a few minutes for tickets to those first four workouts to sell out.

As Jets owner Woody Johnson noted, there will soon be other opportunities for folks to purchase tickets.

Even before New York was officially selected as this summer's featured group for HBO's "Hard Knocks" reality series, the anticipation was high around the organization for a bevy of reasons.

Aside from the obvious, with Aaron Rodgers being traded to the franchise in April (and his relationship with understudy Zach Wilson), there are other characters and storylines to look out for. On defense, there was the longstanding (and recently resolved) contract negotiations between Gang Green and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, as well as whatever comes out of the mouth of outspoken star cornerback Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner.

Rodgers is also being tasked with breaking a record postseason drought and getting the Jets back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season (ironically the last time they were on "Hard Knocks"). That, along with head coach Robert Saleh's well-known displeasure with appearing on the show, makes the upcoming training camp sessions perhaps the most anticipated in the NFL.

For viewers at home, the 2023 Jets training camp edition of "Hard Knocks" premieres on Aug. 8.
