Found April 15, 2013 on The Bay Cave:
Both the Buccaneers and Jets have started their offseason workout programs today and Darrelle Revis has reported for New York. And as Revis makes his appearance, it is being reported the Jets are throttling back -- no pun intended -- on a trade with the Bucs. ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio reports this morning that the Jets are “pressing the pause button” on a Revis trade to the Bucs. He also added that Tampa Bay is offering multiple draft picks, including this year’s first-rounder. Now the Jets “pausing” the trade for now does not mean that they will no longer be looking into trading away their All-Pro cornerback. Since he has reported to their facility, they could very well be tabling the discussions until they can better evaluate his status and determine his value — whatever that may be. If the debate between the two sides continues on what the appropriate draft pick compensation is, I shared a possible scenario last week that included the Bucs still drafting at No. 13 but still trading away a first this year. That is, if it gets to that point. The deal is still expected to get done. Whether it is this week, next week, or weeks from now, the Jets are not expected to start the season with Darrelle Revis on their roster and the Buccaneers remain the only suitors to acquire him. Revis' trade value drops as tensions with the Jets rise

Darrelle Revis is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, or at least he was until he suffered a torn ACL. Revis has been rehabbing his injury, and he'd prefer to continue his rehab by himself, far removed from the Jets, but that's not something the Jets are willing to allow to happen. Revis will be returning to the Jets on Monday because the Jets don't believe, or are...

Darrelle Revis remains hot topic for Schiano

TAMPA, Fla. Greg Schiano stepped to a podium early Monday afternoon, speaking with the comfort of a man with his rookie Tampa Bay Buccaneers coaching year behind him, aware that theres a large prize that could be gained for his second. Monday marked the start of the Bucs' offseason workouts, a time of reunion and new energy, but one issue continues to swirl around One Buc Place...

Darrelle Revis no longer on the trade block?

After an entire offseason of waiting for cornerback Darrelle Revis to be traded, it appears the New York Jets have put those plans on hold. The latest word out of New York has the Jets actually tabling trade talks for the four-time Pro Bowler. On Monday, Revis was undergoing medical tests and convening with the doctor who performed surgery to repair his left ACL. That meeting apparently...

Jets find another reason to upset Revis

It is almost impossible to see Darrelle Revis play in 2013 as a member of the New York Jets. The tension between the two parties is not going away, especially since the Jets found another reason, upset their All-Pro cornerback who is recovering from a torn ACL. The Jets keep expressing how upset they are by Revis opting to use New York Giants team orthopedic Russ Warren to perform...

Revis has MRI, then rejoins Jets

Darrelle Revis was back with his New York Jets teammates -- as rumors continue to swirl that he could be headed elsewhere soon. The star cornerback reported Monday for the first day of the team's voluntary offseason conditioning program, a few hours after having an MRI exam with Dr. Russell Warren, the Giants' team orthopedist, at a hospital in Manhattan. The MRI exam results...

Gerald McCoy not following the Revis trade talks

Gerald McCoy took to the podium today for the first time this offseason at One Buc Place. He also was not surprised when the first question he faced was about Darrelle Revis. “You would ask me that,” McCoy responded. But when it seemed as if he was going to avoid the question, he gave us his thoughts when asked if he was following the trade rumors. I’m not following it. I’m...

Report: Mark Sanchez Will Not Be Included in Darrelle Revis Trade With Buccaneers

Mark Sanchez isn’t wanted anywhere it seems. The New York Jets are probing a scenario where they can ship both Sanchez and Darrelle Revis out of town, but the only team interested in a deal for Revis, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have no interest in making such a move if Sanchez is in the mix, according to Pro Football Talk. Sanchez, a four-year starter with the Jets, has been...

Draft Preview - New York Jets

The Jets have some major needs to address in this u upcoming NFL Draft. New York needs to find an explosive pass rusher and wide receiver. They must upgrade their offensive front and perhaps the secondary, depending on what happens with Darrelle Revis. And might they take a strong look at a QB?

2013 NFL Mock Draft News and Notes by DJ

NFL Mock Draft News and Notes by DJ BoyerMark Sanchez…What is Going on?Maybe one of the most confusing stories now is the involvement/no involvement of Sanchez being tossed into the pot for Tampa Bay in the proposed Darrelle Revis trade. It does seem like this is legitimate and the Jets are not trying to force the hand of another team in order to make some type of move. Looks like...
