The NFL will review New York Jets guard Matt Slauson's hit on Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing during Monday night's game.Cushing will miss the rest of the season with a torn left ACL.  Slauson appeared to cut Cushing with a low block from behind during the Texans' 23-17 victory over the Jets.  The NFL's vice president of football operations Merton Hanks will review the clip, according to USA Today.  Slauson would likely be fined for the hit, which the league will announce on Friday.Slauson was not flagged on the play during the game and Texans coach Gary Kubiak hasn't labeled the block as "dirty.""Obviously, cutting is a part of football, but the rule says you can't come back (toward) your own goal line and cut,"Kubiak said. "So the question is, is the guy coming back to his own goal line? That's in the league's hands. We turn in plays. We turn in situations, and they've got to do their job."

Matt Slauson, who cheap-shotted Brian Cushing, ripped Ndamukong Suh last year for being dirty

Jets offensive tackle Matt Slauson may have knocked Texans linebacker Brian Cushing out for the season by diving at his legs from behind on Monday night. Rex Ryan: JJ Watt should be playing for Knicks

JJ Watt was such a dominant force blocking passes during the Texans’ 23-17 win over the Jets on Monday night, Rex Ryan joked that he should be playing for the Knicks. “That JJ Watt’s the real deal,” Ryan said in his postgame press conference. “I think the Knicks should pick him up too with all the shot-blocking he did. It’s not like he doesn’t do it to everybody, but...

Terrell Owens Just Doesn’t Get It, His NFL Career Is Over Why Would The Jets Take Him?

If Terrell Owens were smart which we all know he is not, he would hang up his football cleats and call it a career. The Jets lining up a corner back at wide receiver isn’t desperate. Remember the guy in Dallas that played both ways? I think his name was Deion Sanders. I don’t care if Ownes took to twitter, sent a telegram, hand a note handed to Rex Ryan or what the case is. The...

People are going to read into the wording used by New York Jets coach Rex Ryan when he said on Wednesday that Mark Sanchez will remain the Jets starting quarterback "this week." Johnson, Ryan disagreement sets the stage for a clash

The New York Jets are the definition of dysfunction, and the circus is only getting better as time moves forward. Girardi's 'Wildcat' move pays off big time

Joe Girardi did something Wednesday night that many New York fans think Rex Ryan should have done last Sunday — and the Sunday before and so on — and it paid off in a big way. The New York Jets head coach has the gut, but it was the New York Yankees manager who had the guts to pull slumping $29 million starter Alex Rodriguez and take a chance on pinch-hitter Raul Ibanez in...

Jets' Ellis out 4-6 weeks with "significant" knee injury

The New York Jets will be without defensive end Kenrick Ellis for 4-6 weeks with what coach Rex Ryan labeled a "significant" knee injury. The MCL injury suffered Monday against the Houston Texans is likely a small tear. Ellis isn't the only player on injury watch this week.
