Mike Westhoff says he is ''frustrated'' by the New York Jets' league-leading six turnovers on returns, including one in the last four games.
The longtime special teams coordinator says Thursday that he has led the league in lots of categories during a distinguished career but ''I haven't led in this one yet.'' And, he isn't happy about it.
The latest flub came last Sunday when rookie Jeremy Kerley couldn't hold onto a punt in the second quarter when a Washington player was knocked into him. Westhoff says ''Deion Sanders couldn't have caught that ball'' and called it ''the absolute singularly most frustrating play'' he's had in a long time because he believes Kerley could've scored.
While Jim Leonhard will take over punt return duties, Westhoff hasn't lost confidence in Kerley.
