Jim Harbaugh's San Francisco 49ers have a first round bye in the NFC Playoffs this week and will then welcome in either the New Orleans Saints or the winner of the Atlanta Falcons or New York Giants game should the Saints lose to the Detroit Lions.

Wednesday morning, on 95.7 The Game, Harbaugh admitted that the 49ers coaching staff will commit most of their film study to the Saints during their bye week.

"More the Saints," Harbaugh said. "The greater share would be preparing for the Saints"

Translation: The Lions are junk.  Harbaugh is going all in (mostly all in) on the Saints knocking off the Lions this Saturday in New Orleans. Harbaugh, who had the hard handshake/swat on the back of Lions head coach Jim Schwartz after their Week 6 meeting, a 49ers victory, is probably trying to needle Schwartz in a convoluted way. To me, it's typical Harbaugh who is seen by many as very calculated and extremely pompous.  The PC "we're preparing for both teams" line was probably never a consideration.

It also comes off pretty cowardly, if you ask me, in a mud-slinging kind of way. If the Lions do upset the Saints, the 49ers won't have to face them until the NFC Championship in two weeks from now. That would mean the Lions would have knocked off the Saints and the Packers, who are very by nearly everyone as the NFC's two most dangerous teams. And, the Lions would have to beat both on the road.

I thought mud-slinging was more of an L.A. when rain hits the hills, but apparently their is plenty of mud to be thrown in NorCal too.
