Watching Jim Harbaugh, coach of the San Francisco 49ers, there are times you have to remind yourself that he is the head coach of the team and not a big brother to Alex Smith. Maybe that is what he needed to succeed? This could be the first time in Smith’s career that someone other then himself actually believes in him. Jim Harbaugh appears to be the guy that has done that. There is a new presence in the quarterback position, this new person is the new and improved Alex Smith. Jim Harbaugh has done a remarkable job in working and building a relationship with the quarterback that seems to be more then just coach to player. It almost reminds us of Tony Dungy and Peyton Manning in the way that the two communicate and teach each other about the game that both love so much. This would not be Coach Harbaugh’s first time in building something like this, he did it last season with Andrew Luck.
