PLAYERS: Jim Irsay
TEAMS: Indianapolis Colts
Say what you must about Jim Irsay, but he's by far among the most social media responsive executives in the NFL. Although his Twitter timeline mostly consists of (sometimes incoherent) ramblings, the Colts owner is known to hold contests every now and again. Take, for example, last Sunday, when the AFC Championship game between the Ravens and Patriots. Irsay tweeted that the first person to correctly guess the score and outcome would win $8,500 in cash. https://twitter.com/JimIrsay/status/293110895658283009 One Colts fan named Jason gave it his best shot. https://twitter.com/mikesong/status/293117652161929216 And Irsay was a man of his word. On Wednesday, a package arrived at Jason's house, containing $8,500 in 100s along with a signed letter from Irsay: Dear Jason, Congratulations again on winning a Twitter contest! Enclosed you will find your prize which consists of $8,500.00. Please continue to follow me on Twitter and thank you for your continued supp...

Irsay pays $8500 to Twitter follower

You can say what you want about the outspoken, mercurial Colts owner, but one thing you can't say about him is that he isn't a man of his word.

Colts owner Jim Irsay gave a Twitter follower $8,500 for guessing Patriots-Ravens score

(click to enlarge letter) Hardly anyone predicted that the Baltimore Ravens would hold the New England Patriots to 13 points and defeat them with relative ease in the AFC Championship Game, let alone correctly guess the exact score of the game. One lucky (or brilliant) fan did just that, and he is now $8,500 richer because of it. On Sunday, Indianpolis Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted...

Dwight Freeney not expected back in Indianapolis

According to Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com, linebacker Dwight Freeney isn’t expected to re-sign with the Indianapolis Colts. Let’s face it, Freeney isn’t a good fit as an outside linebacker in a 3-4.  He’s a 4-3 defensive end and that ‘s it. I’m not sure how much money Freeney will command in free agency since he’ll be turning 33 next month.  My guess is he’ll get a...

Dwight Freeney Not Expected To Remain in Indy

Free agent linebacker Dwight Freeney isn't expected to return to the Colts next season. SOURCE: Peter King, Sports Illustrated.Fantasy Spin:Freeney's sack total this season (five) was his lowest since 2007. He wasn't a great fit for Chuck Pagano's 3-4 scheme in Indianapolis and would probably function better as a defensive end on a team that uses a 4-3 defensive configuration.

Dwight Freeney Not Expected To Be Back With The Colts

Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com writes that Colts OLB Dwight Freeney is not expected to be back with the team next season. This is hardly surprising given Freeney’s age and the fact that he no longer fits their defensive scheme. There was a lot of speculation last year that the Colts could look to trade Freeney, but his contract figure prevented them from doing so. Indianapolis could...

Could Dwight Freeney be on the Patriots' radar?

This season the Indianapolis Colts' stud All-Pro Dwight Freeney had a career-low 5 sacks to go with his 12 total tackles. This was mainly because of his position movement from Defensive End to Outside Linebacker, due to coach Chuck Pagano's 3-4 defense as well as some minor injuries. Well, Freeney is going to be a free agent this offseason, and Indianapolis' local Fox...
