Sam Hurd was called for holding on the opening kickoff, giving the Cowboys terrible field position to start the game. Nick Folk missed a 36-yard field goal. Willie Reid muffed a punt, giving the Raiders the ball deep in Dallas territory. David Buehler, who hit pay dirt on every kickoff in the Alamodome, only put one of three in the end zone in windy Oakland.
