Joe Flacco had a fantastic postseason for the Baltimore Ravens, and now he is going to reap the financial rewards. Flacco is a free agent now that the season is over. He and the Ravens were unable to agree on a contract extension before the season began and decided to table negotiations until after the year. Flacco was believed to be seeking top-five quarterback money a year ago, so his price must be even higher now that he has led Baltimore to a Super Bowl. Flacco even said after winning the Super Bowl and game MVP honors that he is going to make the Ravens pay. “(Baltimore Ravens owner) Steve Bisciotti told me that if this happens, I can go pound on his desk and really stick it to him. And I said, ‘that’s exactly what I’m going to do,’” Flacco said on NFL Network’s postgame show. When host Rich Eisen reiterated that Flacco plans to “stick it to the man,” Flacco said he meant his comments “in a good way.” “I love him but …” Flacco said of Bisciotti. Not giving Flacco an extens
BEST OF MAXIM
There was a time when the Baltimore Ravens did not seem certain that Joe Flacco would be the quarterback of their future. Of course, they never said this publicly, but the signs were there. Then, suddenly, Flacco led them to the Super Bowl. Now, the Ravens may consider placing the Franchise Tag on the young quarterback. If they do, Flacco will see a nice payday.
Joe Flacco's ability to be an elite QB has been questioned all season. I've been one that has doubted his ability all regular season and throughout the playoffs. Has anyone, including me, changed our opinions heading into the Super Bowl?
Joe Flacco started the season by stating he was not only an elite QB, but the best QB in the league. I know some people...
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco had a hell of a game in Super Bowl 47, especially the first half, when he threw three touchdown passes and made his team seem unbeatable. For his work — and because the Ravens’ defense didn’t fully crap the bed and let the 49ers come back and win the game — Flacco was named Super Bowl MVP.
After the game, Flacco milled around...
Joe Flacco finished this postseason with 11 Touchdowns, 0 interceptions, a Super Bowl ring, and a Super Bowl MVP award. Sounds elite to me. So now that the season is over, attention turns to Flacco and the Ravens as they now have to attempt to get a deal done because of Flacco’s looming free [...]
Momentum is not actually a determining factor in sports. Nor is manifest destiny, at least not in the way Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis describes it with God wanting Baltimore to win and then making that outcome happen, by, I don't know, planting atrocious, goal-line pass plays in 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman's brain for that final decisive series.
Nice work, God...
Last year during the offseason, Baltimore Ravens' quarterback Joe Flacco was making wild statements about how he was an “elite” quarterback and the best in the business. He really sounded like he belonged in a nut house than on the football field.Flacco has been one of those quarterbacks that has seen more downs than ups over his career even though he manages to get the Ravens...
Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens withstood a furious comeback attempt from the 49ers, a 34-minute blackout and the Destiny's Child reunion to win the Super Bowl.
Ravens fans, you may now exhale, let out a sigh of relief and celebrate. Congratulations to coach John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens on their hard-fought victory.
If you’ve swallowed your breath all game long, please resume back to your normal breathing functions. Though I understand the 2nd half of Super Bowl 47 will indefinitely be reminisced as the most exhilarating fifteen...
Joe Flacco mentioned that he is “pretty optimistic” about finalizing a new contract with the Ravens in the next few months.
“I’m pretty optimistic, but who knows,” Flacco said, per Aaron Wilson. “This is a great organization. I don’t anticipate any problem.”
Last offseason, the Ravens reportedly offered Flacco a contract that would have paid him $16...
New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Joe Flacco unequivocally proved he belongs with the NFL's elite quarterbacks, while John Harbaugh showed that big brother indeed knows best. And for Ray Lewis, it was the ultimate ending to an absoutely illustrious career.Flacco delivered a lights-out performance -- both literally and figuratively -- at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, and the Baltimore...
Why Beyonce? Why not? As we recap the Ravens' 34-31 victory over the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII, here's five amazing stats to take away from the game.1. Jacoby Jones' 290 Total YardsWho saw this coming? Not me, that's for sure.Jacoby Jones was the difference in this game, hauling in a 56-yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco and returning a kickoff 108 yards for a touchdown...
A power outage at the Super Bowl put the nation's biggest sporting event on hold for more than a half-hour Sunday, interrupting an otherwise electric, back-and-forth game that ended with Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens as NFL champions thanks to a 34-31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
Flacco, voted the MVP, threw three first-half touchdown passes to cap an 11-TD, zero...
