Found December 03, 2013 on AFC East Daily:
The Miami Dolphins haven't boasted the greatest of rushing offenses this season, but Sunday against the best run defense in the NFL, the Dolphins weren't half bad. The New York Jets had been giving up less than 3 yards a carry prior to their loss to the Dolphins, and the Dolphins managed 3.5 yards a rush against the stout defensive front. It wasn't so much the quality of the runs, however, that made Miami's ground game a success against the Jets. It was the quantity. "I’m delighted. I thought (offensive coordinator) Mike (Sherman) did a great job sticking with the run," coach Joe Philbin said Monday, via MiamiDolphins.com. "I think we called about 30-32 runs in the course of the game, which for us that’s great. I’d love to be above 30 all the time." The Dolphins' commitment to the run and balance on offense opened up the passing game, which flourished against a struggling Jets secondary. "We came out, knew we were going against a good def...

An analysis of Ryan Tannehill: a tale of two halves

I It's now the tail end of year number 2 for this former number 1 draft pick in Miami.  Ryan Tannehill, leading up to this season had a high  level of expectation that after starting the season with 5 TDs to 2 INTs, being mentioned in the same breath as Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck seemed achievable.  However, after paying a visit to the Bayou in New Orleans and...

Miami Dolphins still afloat in playoff race

As the season is beginning to wind down, the Dolphins are fighting for one of the two wild card playoff spots. The Dolphins are currently second in the AFC East, after defeating the Jets 23-3 on Sunday. They are second behind none other than the 9-3 Patriots. The Patriots will more than likely clinch the division, so it’s up to the Dolphins to obtain a wild card spot. This task...

Ryan Tannehill and Dude Perfect Go Nuts Inside of a Dick's Sporting Goods

You ever watch one of those movies where kids or even adults get trapped in a department store or something and just go nuts playing with everything? Did you think it looked like fun? Did you want to do it yourself?Well--I'd love to say I know how you can, but that sort of thing is outside of my means. What I can say is that Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill did (lucky...

The Dolphins Beat the Jets, but DID Lingers

Dissociative identity disorder (DID): a rare mental disorder characterized by at least two distinct or dissociated personality states that alternately control behavior… DID the Miami Dolphins finally overcome the split personality plaguing them all season? DID Ryan Tannehill throw his receivers open, instead of throwing them covered? DID the Miami defense play two halves of great...

Joe Philbin 'delighted' with RB Lamar Miller

The Miami Dolphins have been reluctant to provide a heavy workload to starting running back Lamar Miller. There have been reasons (excuses?) such as durability concerns and sharing with Daniel Thomas that severely limited Miller's carries. But Thomas' significant ankle injury forced a shift last week in Miami's thinking. The Dolphins' coaching staff gave Miller...

Dolphins keep playoff hopes alive, top Jets 23-3

Ryan Tannehill threw for 331 yards and two touchdowns, leading Miami to a 23-3 victory over the listless New York Jets on Sunday that kept the Dolphins' playoff hopes alive. With the AFC East rivals approaching the game as a must-win, the Dolphins (6-6) played with more of a sense of urgency while sending the Jets (5-7) to their third straight loss. New York also has a quarterback...

Tannehill May Be Forced to Aid Dolphins' Ground Attack

It would be inconceivable for the Miami Dolphins to ask quarterback Ryan Tannehill to do more down the stretch of the season, but given the circumstances surrounding the Miami offense, it may be necessary. At 6-6, the Miami Dolphins are right in the thick of things in the AFC playoff race as the Dolphins are tied with the Baltimore Ravens for the final wild card spot. Tannehill...

Dolphins Game Review

This won't be long a review.  I want to start out by saying Joe Philbin has done a pretty good job steering the Dolphins through some turbulent waters in the past few weeks.  Nearly every aspect of the Dolphins organization has been questioned during that time.I would also like to ask where would this team be with out Ryan Tannehill ?  Tannehill has not only been playing better...

Can the these Jekyll and Hyde Dolphins embarrass the Pittsburgh Steelers?

Just when you count them out, they (the Dolphins) reel us back in.  Sure, the Jets are horrible and at this point in the season any decent defense that has an anemic offense is vulnerable.  The Jets actually held their own for a half allowing only two field goals, but without any help from the Jets talentless offense it was just a matter of time before the Dolphins found the end...

5 things to know after Dolphins humble Jets 23-3

The talk all week by both teams was of desperation, a must-win showdown between the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets. One of the AFC East rivals brought that sense of urgency to the game. The other might need to start thinking about next season. Ryan Tannehill threw for 331 yards and two touchdowns, leading Miami to a 23-3 victory over the listless Jets on Sunday that helped the...

Hartline-Wallace-Clay trio makes QB Tannehill's job easy

The Miami Dolphins spent a lot of money this past offseason to upgrade their receiving corps, and during Sunday's 23-3 drubbing of the AFC East rival New York Jets, a trio of players made it look like they got their money's worth. Wide receivers Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline and H-back Charles Clay led a Miami passing attack that ran free most of the afternoon against the...

Dolphins rout Jets to stay alive in playoff hunt

Nothing like a rivalry game to bring out your best. Or, as in the case of the Jets, your worst. The Dolphins dominated everything but the scoreboard from the opening whistle, and then scored 17 second-half points to humble the Jets 23-3 Sunday. With the win, the Dolphins keep pace with the Ravens for the sixth and final wild-card spot at 6-6. The Jets fell to 5-7. Ryan Tannehill...
