New Orleans Saints head coach Joe Vitt told the local media on Thursday that he believes quarterback Drew Brees will show up at some point.

“He’ll be here. What else is he going to do? He can’t sing or dance,” said Vitt

In the end I don’t think Brees will hold out for the entire season, but then again you never know what will happen.

Don’t forget Brees’ career was in jeopardy after he tore his labrum with the Chargers. Like every other football player, Brees almost knows first hand how quickly an NFL career can be over. I believe he’ll hold out until he gets a new deal.

Brees tells Vitt he can sing and dance

Saints coach Joey Vitt joked that Brees eventually will show up because he can't do anything else, including sing and dance, the QB tweeted an equally jokey response.

Saints fan raises money to keep Brees

With the team far apart in contract talks with star quarterback Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints fans are taking matters into their own hands. A 52-year-old season ticket-holder has started Fansstepup.com, calling on his fellow Saints fans to pony up some cash as a gesture to show Brees how much he means to the city. "Drew Brees has been an incredible ambassador for the City...

Saints Nation: Drew Brees Won't Be Seeing Any of My Money

There have been so many troubles for the Saints this offseason that I have become desensitized to any new stories that come out. At this point, any news that isn’t bad is GREAT. A New Orleans Saints ticket holder has created a website to take donations to give to Drew Brees, as he awaits a new contract. As much as I love and respect Drew, I wouldn’t give him a dime of my own...

2012 Fantasy Football Preview: Saints QB Drew Brees

Nobody has ever passed the ball better than New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees did in 2012. Not only did he set an NFL single-season record with 5,476, he completed 71.2 percent of his passes and threw for 46 touchdowns in one the greatest seasons by a quarterback in NFL history. That is all well and good, but the question on the minds of fantasy football owners is...

Saints fan Tony Le Mon starts website asking for donations to pay Drew Brees

When the all-too-common argument of athletes being overpaid arises, I tend to always side with the athlete. While $20 million a year seems like an astronomical amount of money to pay someone for playing a game, it is the basic concept of supply-and-demand at work. The money comes from somewhere, and if the people shelling it out didn’t think they were going to get a return on their...

Report: Saints make new offer to Brees

The New Orleans Saints have made a new contract offer to record-setting quarterback Drew Brees, said a person familiar with the situation. The person spoke to The Associated Press Thursday on condition of anonymity because the team and the quarterback have not publicly discussed the new offer. The person did not provide details about financial changes in the new offer, but added...

Saints Nation: Chronic Podcast - Breesageddon Edition

Andrew Juge of the Saints Nation stops bye to discuss all the scenarios where the calendar turns to July, Drew Brees isn't signed, and we all look for tall bridges to leap off of. He also says compares a former Saints GM to midget porn! Plus the boys try to figure out if Grandmaster Wang is right about the local media (especially the Times Picayune) doing a crappy job covering...

Pamphilon implies Brees, Fujita encouraged him to release the Gregg Williams audio

Getty Images On Thursday, filmmaker Sean Pamphilon posted a very long explanation on his website, which broke down why he released the famous audio of former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams telling his defense “kill the head & the body dies.” You can read it for yourself. But the impression that I got from Pamphilon’s story is that both Drew...

Report: Drew Brees would make over $23 million in 2013 under the tag

Getty Images According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, if John Clayton’s calculations are correct, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees would make $23,574,240 million in 2013, if he’s given the franchise tag for the third time in his career. There isn’t a single player in the NFL that’s ever made that much money in one season.  It looks like the Saints don’t have that...

Filmmaker: Brees, Fujita, knew of Williams speech

A documentary filmmaker says in a long website post that Drew Brees, Scott Fujita and the NFL Players Association knew about his recording of a vicious motivational speech by ex-Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams before it was released. Sean Pamphlion says the players sought to influence when the recording was made public. Pamphilon was working on a film with ALS-afflicted...
