Steelers’ veteran offensive lineman Trai Essex announced today via his Twitter account that he will be back with the Steelers  for this upcoming season. Essex played in all 16 games last season and is exactly the type of versatile offensive lineman coveted by offensive line coach Sean Kugler. Essex can play all five positions along the front line. Details of his deal are forthcoming. Also remaining a Pittsburgh Steeler is tight end/H-back David Johnson who signed a $1.26 million dollar deal for one year. The re-signing of Johnson is a bit surprising considering the signing earlier this week of another guy who fits the same mold in Leonard Pope. Both can play tight end in place of Heath Miller but speculation is that each would be used more as the H-back/FB mode. A lot of that will depend on the direction of Todd Haley’s new offense.

Heath Miller Was Not An Obvious First Round Pick In 2005 Either

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed free agent tight end Leonard Pope on Tuesday and immediately most in Steeler Nation speculate that there is absolutely no way the Steelers will now consider drafting a tight end in the first round of the draft later this month. When you look at the odds from a distance and mix in the fact that Pope played for new offensive coordinator Todd Haley when...

Steelers 2012 Mock Draft Version 1.0 – Christopher DiMarino

By Christopher DiMarino Completing this mock draft was a large undertaking for a guy like me. Whereas I’m normally very direct and concise, I have tried to cater a lot of the articles I write towards both sides of the story. Sure I like Coby Fleener, but I also want to look into the negative aspects of him as a prospect in an effort to remain neutral as well as alter to my opinion...

The Steelers have kept one of their own in bringing back Jerricho Cotchery.  Rotoworld is reporting that the Steelers have re-signed Cotchery to a two year deal.  This is good news for the Steelers. Do not underestimate re-signing of Cotchery

If you viewed the signing of Jerricho Cotchery yesterday as just another typical Pittsburgh Steelers’ free agent signing you wouldn’t be alone. Not long after it was announced that Cotchery had signed a two-year deal, third year receiver...
