Jones-Drew: Suits fuel NFL's concussion crackdown

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew says lawsuits have fueled the NFL's crackdown on concussions. The league's leading rusher spoke out about the issue again Wednesday, nearly a week after telling The Associated Press he would hide a concussion to stay in a game. Jones-Drew has been questioned several times about his concussion views since. His latest comments are his strongest. He says until recent years there ''wasn't this big deal about concussions,'' and adds ''the only reason they're making a big deal about concussions right now is because the league is getting sued over it.'' He reiterates that he knows the risk of playing such a physical game, calling injuries an ''occupational hazard.'' He adds that ''you have to be willing to accept it, and I am.''
