Found November 27, 2012 on NFL Draft Zone:
Josh Gordon caught four passes for 60 yards in the Browns’ Week 12 win over the Steelers.Gordon did not see shadow coverage from Ike Taylor. He did lead the Browns in targets with seven and continues to show improvement on his route tree. The raw rookie is now successfully running slants and sticking his nose into safeties for physical extra yards. Gordon is due to bust a big play against the Raiders’ Swiss cheese defense in Week 13. Expect a big game from the supplemental pick this week.

Pat Shurmur: “We played a physical team and we found a way to finish.”

Are the Browns getting a reputation as a physical football team? We’ve heard all season after teams have played the Browns they seem to have more respect for what the team is building. Then we heard from the Ravens how much they didn’t enjoy having to tackle Trent Richardson. Against the Steelers the Browns were popping running backs left and right. They created turnovers. Some...

NFL Rumors: Mike Holmgren shown the door in Cleveland, where will he land?

With new ownership in place, the Cleveland Browns had already decided to replace team president Mike Holmgren with Joe Banner. The move was announced mid-season but Holmgren is now finished with the franchise with Sunday being his last game with the Browns. Was this the swan song for Holmgren as he finds his way into the broadcast booth or will he return to the sidelines next season...

Browns Expect To Have QB Brandon Weeden In Week 13

Browns head coach Pat Shurmur mentioned that he expects to have QB Brandon Weeden under center, despite the fact that he recently suffered a concussion, per Scott Petrak. Weeden has been cleared to practice, which is really a great sign, considering that a number of players require more time to be cleared following a concussion. Shurmur added that Colt McCoy will not receive extra...

Steelers Versus Browns Game Rewind – First Half Notes

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Cleveland Browns 20-14  Sunday and below are my first half notes from the game with the second half notes to follow soon. The Browns open with an explosive play to Josh Gordon on an underneath shallow crossing route. It was against the Steelers zone defense and caught them off guard a bit. It would, however, be their only explosive play of...

Mistakes cost Steelers in 20-14 loss to Browns

Once they stopped dropping the ball and throwing it to the Browns, the Pittsburgh Steelers realized something bigger than a win could be slipping away. Their season. The Steelers committed eight turnovers - five fumbles and three interceptions by quarterback Charlie Batch - to make things easier on Cleveland and the Browns did just enough for a 20-14 win on Sunday over their bitter...

A report out of WREG in Tennessee is circulating which states that former NFL head coach Jon Gruden would receive partial ownership in the Cleveland Browns if he were to take over the vacant coaching job with the Tennessee Volunteers. Glenn Carver of WREG, the CBS affiliate of Memphis, Tennessee, writes that Jimmy Haslam III’s connection to UT would provide added perks to a contract...

“It” Doesn’t Have to be Pretty

It ended with a coffin corner. A punt. A lawn dart of a kick that plummeted back to the earth, landing on the three-yard line before bouncing immediately out of bounds. Punts are often assimilated with failure, but on this day it was anything but. With the Pittsburgh Steelers out of timeouts, having used them with the Browns decidedly pinned back in their own territory, the team...
