I wouldn’t take me in the 6th round either Juan…

I will go round by round through a draft and tell you who I like in a specific round and who I don’t like in a specific round. This may be the best way for me to help you get through your draft. Of course there is tons of goodness in the Juan’s Draft Plan as well.

I’ll Pass On Shonn Greene, Cedric Benson, Miles Austin and Vincent Jackson

I think Shonn Greene just plain sucks.  He will need a massive amount of volume to generate decent stats, but I not counting on it.  Benson could be a good value this season, but the 6th round?  The Packers don’t run enough, use Kuhn at the stripe (when they run), and Benson has never been a huge TD guy anyway.  Miles Austin’s hamstrings have become a major bother.  He missed 6 games last season and parts of others, while not being very effective when he did play.  I’ll pass.  Finally, Vincent Jackson.  V-Jax is a big, fast, talented guy, but he now has taken a step back with his QB and has never been very consistent anyway.

Not The Guy Who Made Clerks

Kevin Smith injured his ankle in the Lions 3rd preseason game, but everything checked out.  I know he is an injury risk, but he is also the most talented RB that the Lions have with Best on the shelf.  The Jersey Leshoure should also be on your radar, but remember he is coming back from a torn Achilles, so Smith could be the #1 guy this season.  If I already had 2 really sold RBs, I might not need Smith here, but if you need a RB2 then he could be your guy in the 6th.

I’d Rather Wait On A TE

This round sees Jermichael Finley and Vernon Davis go off the board.  After Hernandez goes, I’m waiting in the bushes to pounce on a TE later in the draft.  Both of these guys are getting a lot of love considering they bombed in 2011.

Some Good PPR WRs To Target

Eric Decker, Stevie Johnson, and Reggie Wayne are all guys who could catch 80-90 balls this season.  Decker is on the same page as Peyton and is the intermediate threat, which is where Peyton is feeling comfortable throwing.  Stevie Johnson should be the same guy he was last year, so a pretty decent WR2.  Wayne may be the #1 target for Andrew Luck with Collie not around and the two should be a very good combo this season.

The Biggest Upside Guy Torrey Smith

I really like Torrey Smith this season.  He has worked on his route tree and looks like a guy who really worked hard to get the short to intermediate routes perfected.  We know he can run the deep routes.  With Flacco taking the next step and Smith getting more action in the passing game, we could be a big jump.  Very solid pick at the end of the 6th round.

Cedric Benson excels against Bengals

Earlier this week, we discussed comments that were made by Packers running back Cedric Benson in regards to facing his former team the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday evening. Although he did not get to hand out the “whooping” that he planned on dishing out, Benson did perform well rushing for 38 yards on six carries. Please click the link below to read this story.

Green Bay Packers: Cedric Benson, Welcome To TitleTown

Sometimes it is best to be both lucky AND good, because you might wind up in football heaven.Anyone who paid attention to the NFL the last few years knows that Cedric Benson is good, but he can be forgiven for not feeling lucky. After arriving with great fanfare as a top draft pick of the Bears they had too many starting backs and Benson was gone after four so-so years. He was a...

Cedric Benson’s Fantasy Value

Cedric Benson’s Fantasy Value Rizzla: Benson has solid RB3 value with RB2 upside. Cedric Benson has never seen the types of lanes he saw in the preseason with the Packers and rightfully feels like a kid in a candy store. He is now playing for a legit Super Bowl contender and will never see a stacked box again with Aaron Rodgers healthy. Benson has rushed for 1,000 yards for three...

Cedric Benson The #1 Guy?

I love running against 6 man fronts Juan… It doesn’t look like Ced Benson was brought into Green Bay to chill on the sidelines.  James Starks is injured still and reportedly could be on the roster bubble.  Plus, he has stunk in camp and is not that talented to begin with.  Alex Smith has not taken advantage of the situation he is in even though his skill set fits the Packers...

Cedric Benson Shows Power in Preseason Debut with Packers

Packers running back Cedric Benson made his preseason debut Thursday against his former team the Cincinnati Bengals and shared time with Alex Green running for the first-team.Fantasy Spin:Benson was the more impressive, rushing for 38 yards on six carries while Green managed just 10 yards on five carries. It's looking more and more like Benson will be the Packers' opening day starter.

Benson, Rodgers bring back the Packer’s running game

The Green Bay Packers aren’t really known for having a running game. However, during Thursday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, it was the running game that dominated the first half. Newly acquired RB Cedric Benson and QB Aaron Rodgers highlighted an element of the Packer’s offense that had been missing for some time now. With [...]

Cedric Benson Gives Credibility to Packers Running Game

All offseason the Green Bay Packers have been hoping that someone would step up and take hold of the starting running back position and last night in Cincinnati, the newly acquired Cedric Benson may have done just that with his six-carry, 38 yard performance against his former team. Benson, who was just signed as a free agent by Green Bay a little over a week ago, is coming...

I’ll Pass On: Miles Austin

My hamstrings are more used up than Kim K Juan… 2011 Recap:  Austin went off in the first 2 games of 2011 with 14/233/4, before injuring his hamstring in game 2.  After he came back from injury he could only muster 29/346/3 in the 8 games he actually played in.  With the skill set Austin possess, he is nothing without his lower body power to make big plays. Injuring both hamstrings...

Green Bay Packer Offense Hits Stride Verses Cincinnati Bengals

The Green Bay Packer first offensive team reminded fans of last season during their time on the field in Cincinnati Thursday night. Lead by the rushing of Aaron Rodgers the Green Bay Packers were able to put 17 points on the board in the first half on the way to a 27 to 13 preseason victory. Cedric Benson did not start the game with the first unit but came into the game when the...
