San Francisco 49ers DT Justin Smith had his partially torn triceps repaired Monday, and will face at least 3 months of rehab, CSNBayArea reports.
The injury, which tore half of the triceps, occurred on December 16th, vs. New England.
He missed the final 2 1/2 regular season games, but returned to the playoffs and Super Bowl with the help of a brace.
The timetable to get back in physical shape puts him ready to joing the team in time for training camp. At that time, he'll be entering the final year of his contract and is slated to make $8 million.
