New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck told ESPNNewYork.com that not having Osi Umenyiora anymore “is going to be a huge burden” going into next season. “Let Osi tell it, I’m going to have the best year of my life,” Tuck said. “[But] you can never replace a guy like Osi,” Tuck continued. “A lot of people don’t understand how much of a help he is in the locker room and as a motivator. We always have worked together to try and polish our game. Losing him is going to be a huge burden.” Tuck says he had a specific chemistry with Osi. “He’s an All-Pro player,” Tuck said. “You don’t just go out to the market and pick out those. Plus, he’s been here all of his career, all of my career. You get accustomed to knowing things that don’t show up on tape, that don’t show up in the play call. “There’s a certain chemistry you have with guys knowing the situation in games what they’re thinking,” he added. “They know what you’re thinking. That takes time. You have to build that back with whoever it is who’s going to be in their place next year.” Osi is a very good pass rusher, but he didn’t have a great season in 2012 and is approaching his mid-30′s.  It will be interesting to see what he can do down in Atlanta.     Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();

  • Osi did not play well at all last year so I don't really feel not having him this year is gonna make much of a difference. Tuck just needs to step it up and so does Jason Piere Paul.
