The Kansas City Chiefs made some news last week by signing former Oakland Raiders CB Stanford Routt, now it seems as if the Chiefs would like to keep one of their own cornerbacks. The Kansas City Chiefs would like to sign CB Brandon Carr to a long-term deal before he can hit the free agency market. According to Jim Wyatt from the Tennessean Newspaper on Twitter, “Chiefs Coach Romeo Crennel said the team would like to keep CB Brandon Carr, who could be a #Titans target if he hits free agency.” Carr, who will turn 26 in May, is slated for free agency once the new NFL calendar year starts. Carr has a 237 total tackles in his career and eight total interceptions. The move by the Chiefs to try to re-sign Carr after signing Routt would be a wise move for the Kansas City secondary, especially with the franchise slated to have S Eric Berry ready for the start of training camp.
