Arrowhead stadium, the home of the Kansas City Chiefs, was placed on security lock down after a shooting happened Saturday December 1st, around 8:00 am.KCTV 5 in Kansas City is reporting that Chiefs' linebacker, Jovan Belcher, shot his girlfriend and then drove 11 minutes to the Arrowhead practice facility and shot and killed himself.Belcher was a four-year starter at Maine, before making the Chiefs' team as an un-drafted free agent in 2009. A notorious hard worker and locker room favorite, the linebacker’s sad demise will certainly shock the entire team and organization. The murder/suicide is the continuing saga of what has been a nightmare season for the Kansas City Chiefs who are 1-10. Head coach Romeo Crennel’s team has played very poorly all season and general manager Scott Pioli is also in jeopardy of losing his job at season end.Owner Clark Hunt has many decisions to be made before next season. The death of Belcher just magnifies what has been a horrific year for Hunt and the Chiefs.KCTV 5 was first saying that Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers maybe moved to Monday night to help the Chief’s recover from this sad and morally devastating incident. But the NFL has declined the move and the Panthers and Chiefs will continue their regular scheduled game at 12:00pm central time on Sunday, December 2nd.Jovan Belcher was 25 years old and had 33 tackles this year. He also played in every game for the Chiefs.Expect the shocked Kansas City Chiefs' defense to rally and play this game in his memory, that is if they can recover from the shock of his passing in time to do so.
