The Kansas City Chiefs began the Andy Reid era in New Orleans Friday. And while the Saints pulled out a 17 -13 victory with its back up players, the first string match ups were very promising for the Chiefs. However it wasn’t Andy Reid’s offense that was the most impressive, it was Bob Sutton’s defense that kicked into gear early and often again future Hall of Famer Drew Brees and his prolific offense.Defensive tackles Mike Devito and last years first round pick Dontari Poe, provide an aggressive push that surprised Brees, as well as Chief’s fans. Poe was double teamed on several run plays but that didn’t stop linebacker Derrick Johnson from keeping the Saints runners in front of him for minimal gain. As well as sacking Brees, the Chiefs showed many different sub set packages. Safety Eric Berry even lined up at the weak side linebacker position, to provide pressure on Brees. With all the emphasis made on defensive draft picks made during the Romeo Crennel and Scott Pioli régime it app...
