Arrowhead is now the loudest open air stadium ever. (Photo credit: Ed Zurga/AP) The Kansas City Chiefs have a chance to get to 7-0 in front of a home crowd that last week set the world record for noise in an open-air stadium, with one of the best defenses in the league, against a team that has a rookie quarterback (Case Keenum) making his first NFL start of his career. The situation couldn’t sound better for the Chiefs to stay undefeated, yet, Kansas City must still execute to win this game. Where the Chiefs Must Improve Over the past two games the Chiefs are a miserable 5-of-26 on third down conversions and last week, for the first time this season, Kansas City came up on the short end of the time of possession statistic. Controlling the clock and giving the defense a breather will be vital to getting to 7-0 for Kansas City. If the offense is abysmal again, the undefeated season could come to an end, even in front of that intimidating Sea of Red. Scoring a ton of points will neither be necessary nor likely in this game for the Chiefs’ offense. The Kansas City defense will take advantage of Keenum’s inexperience and the crowd will make life miserable for him. Houston has a defense that is underrated because of the Texans’ offensive struggles. Houston ranks first in the NFL in total defense and passing defense. The Weak Link in Houston’s Defensive Armor The Texans’ weak link defensively is against the run, in which case they are averaging allowing 121.5 yards per game. Jamaal Charles should get his normal dose of 30-something touches tomorrow for the Chiefs, as their best bet against Houston offensively is to try to run the ball. If Kansas City can use the running game to move the chains and control the clock then get a normal performance from their defense and the advantage that Arrowhead Stadium has again become, they should remain undefeated.
