The Kansas City Chiefs were the lucky team with the No. 1 draft pick in 2013 after posting a 2-14 record last season. To go along with that top pick they hired offensive mastermind, head coach Andy Reid, and traded for quarterback Alex Smith to get this team back to the top of the AFC West. Here is the draft class that Reid and Smith have to work with in their first season in Kansas City.Kansas City Chiefs 2013 Rookie ClassDraft Picks1st Round: Eric Fisher - Offensive Tackle3rd Round: Travis Kelce - Tight End3rd Round: Knile Davis - Running Back4th Round: Nico Johnson - Inside Linebacker5th Round: Sanders Commings - Cornerback6th Round: Eric Kush - Center6th Round: Braden Wilson - Fullback7th Round: Mike Catapana - Defensive End Undrafted Free Agent RookiesTyler Bray - QuarterbackDarin Drakeford - LinebackerOtha Foster – Defensive BackFrankie Hammond Jr. - Wide ReceiverDemetrius Harris – Tight EndA.J. Hawkins – Offensive Line Colin Kelly – Offensive Line Rob Lohr – Defensive End Brad Madison – Defensive Line Josh Martin – Linebacker/Defensive EndBrad McDougald – Wide ReceiverRidge Wilson – Linebacker/Defensive EndIn his first season as head coach of the Chiefs Andy Reid has put together a strong rookie class, especially on the offensive line with the additions of Eric Fisher and center Eric Kush in the draft along with A.J. Hawkins and Colin Kelly through free agency. All four of these players are very capable of being every-down players once the season kicks off this September.Quarterback Tyler Bray is also a nice addition to a passing game that ranked 32nd in the league last season and cut ties with Matt Cassel. Granted Alex Smith will more than likely be the starter when Week 1 rolls around, with any sign of struggle Reid could very well turn to his rookie to get the ball down the field to Dwayne Bowe. While Reid has been spending the majority of his time during organized team activities working with the offense, defensive coordinator Bob Sutton has his defense flying all over the place and hawking to the the ball. Out of his rookie class Sutton has got his best results out of defensive end Mike Catapana until he started suffering from minor injuries.Josh Martin is also a strong addition to this Chiefs' defense that ranked 27th against the pass last season. Martin has the perfect size and abilities to where he can either line up on the end or play linebacker and drop back into coverage when needed.Reid has made some great additions to this team in his first season with his rookie class and other players he has brought to the team. As long as he can get this teams passing attack going; Reid should have this Chiefs' team fighting for the AFC West divisional title in a couple of seasons.
