The Kansas City Chiefs need to get real for second about Matt Cassel. In the NFL, the quarterbacks always get the blame for the team when things don’t go well, but it isn’t Cassel’s fault. Chief fans are already clamoring to pick Geno Smith in the NFL draft and that would be a mistake. It’s not a mistake because of Smith not being a good quarterback, but the real issue on the Chiefs offense. That is the offensive lineman with pass protection and even run blocking. Long gone are the days when the Chiefs had Brian Waters or Will Shields on the line racking up bodies as they moved. Now the Chiefs have largely a makeshift offensive line and surprisingly, the Chiefs haven’t take an offensive lineman in the first round since the NFL draft since 2008 in Branden Albert.… Read more

  • I have been a Chief fan since the first superbowl. I have seen the best that this team can offer and also the worst. I have lived in New England since the late 60's. Lastly, I can tell you that Belichick pretty much released Cassel to the Chiefs. The whole front office including Cassel has to go. It has to be a top down approach and stop eating New England leftovers.

Let's get back to the Derrick Thomas / Neal Smith days of defense. Let's fix this offence by first, getting a quartertback that can enhance the run game, keep the D honest but attack by running the football. KC can dominate the run game.

We are three years away if we do things right.
