New York Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride admitted that he was “shocked” by Jim Harbaugh’s comments last week.
“I have great respect for their front, and I have unbelievable respect for the guy (Smith), tremendous,” Gilbride told the New York Daily News. “But it (defensive holding) is something he does. He reaches out and grabs people. …
“I thought it was just in a litany of compliments. … all of a sudden, (Harbaugh) turned it into a negative thing. … It was great. All of a sudden, now everybody in the country saw it. It worked well.”
At the end of the day, Gilbride and the Giants offense got the last laugh as they put up 26 points against one of the NFL’s best defenses.

49ers CEO Jed York is is doing all he can to maintain a relationship with his team's fan base, even if he has to do it one fan at a time.
The New York Giants fans can be a rabid bunch. Obviously not everyone in New Jersey is down with Big Blue because as the team were on the far side of the country stomping out the San Francisco 49ers, a group of locals were busy breaking into player’s cars.

The New York Giants last year were famous for the nastiest defensive line in the history of football. With Jason Pierre Paul, Osi, and Justin Tuck they were on the fast path to winner more championships. Well after a horrible start of the season, the Giants might be forced with a decision. Right now they currently have to split time with Tuck, Osi and JPP. Well because of these...
Matt Millen before he destroyed the Lions as a GM was a very good NFL linebacker. Not a superstar, but a very solid contributor on not one, but four Super Bowl teams. Millen commented on a San Francisco radio program that Patrick Willis had his worst game as a 49er during the loss to the Giants. Millen is an analysis now, so it is his job to make critiques, but Willis got into his...
After Sunday’s loss to the Giants, 49ers safety Donte Whitner suggested that they were too caught up in redeeming themselves after losing last year’s NFC title game, instead of being focused on the task at hand.We “possibly got too high,” Whitner said, per the San Francisco Chronicle. “A lot of people talking about redemption and this and that. Really, it’s Game 6 of...
Tom Coughlin came into the week proclaiming that no one believed the Giants could beat the 49ers, not giving his team any chance of winning in San Francisco against the team many considered the best in the NFL. Someone forgot to tell Coughlin, his staff and players because the Giants decimated the 49ers in their own house to the tune of a 26-3 whooping. The Giants had not played...
The San Francisco 49ers drop their record to 4-2 after being dealt a healthy dose of reality in a painfully lopsided loss to the New York Giants in week six 26-3. The Giants came into Candlestick Park on Sunday and handed the 49ers their worst loss since Jim Harbaugh took over as head coach. A night that saw the 49ers squander away numerous opportunities to the advantageous Giants...
New York Giants tight end Travis Beckum is eligible to come off the PUP list this week and begin practicing. Head coach Tom Coughlin indicated on Monday that Beckum’s knee isn’t ready to go.Beckum suffered a torn ACL in the Super Bowl last season, so it’s no surprise that he isn’t ready yet.
Well all it took was some alcohol and a blow out loss for the home team for a brawl to break out after last night’s Giants-49ers game. Check it out below. Thanks to Black Sports Online for the video
Patrick Willis might not have known who Matt Millen was a few days ago, but the San Francisco 49ers linebacker certainly knows about the former Pro Bowler now. Willis apologized Tuesday, a day after ripping Millen, now a football analyst, for comments Millen made that were critical of the 49ers' defense in the team's 26-3 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. "Yesterday...
Antrel Rolle and the New York Giants studied Alex Smith so much they practically knew what was coming. But nobody much saw this rout coming in a rematch of January’s tightly-contested NFC Championship Game.
I'm not going to say that I didn't expect this fan fight from last Sunday's San Francisco 49ers/New York Giants game but considering the recent rivalry, something was bound to go down.
Check out this fan fight from the parking lot of Candlestick Park that gets out of hand rather quickly:

Chicago (AP) - South Florida and San Francisco -- actually Santa Clara, where the 49ers are building a new stadium -- will compete to host the 50th Super Bowl in 2016. The loser of that bid will compete with Houston for the 2017 game.
Some owners have said SunLife Stadium in Miami needs major upgrades before it should be considered for another Super Bowl; Miami has hosted the most...
It wasn’t all great for the the New York Giants over the weekend. While the team was preparing for their best game away in San Francisco, thieves broke into several players cars, stole items from them, and even made off with some of vehicles themselves. According to a report, the burglaries took place sometime early Sunday morning, [...]
Despite being the defending Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants have managed to fly under the radar most of the season.
In the preseason, they were overshadowed in their own area by Tim Tebow and the quarterback hoopla with the New York Jets.
A nationally televised season-opening loss to the Dallas Cowboys turned off more people, and a nationally televised Sunday night setback...
