Injuries and the teams much publicized legal issues this off season have made the Lions running back bench short. Jahvid Best has injury issues and will not be ready for the start of the season. Mikel Leshoure has a suspension to deal with. As of right now that leaves Smith as the best on roster option for the start of the season. The question for fantasy owners is this: is Kevin Smith a sleeper worth taking a flier on in 2012?

When all is said and done, the preseason is not the actual season.
The goal of training camp is to find out who belongs on your team, and who doesn’t. This, of course, is all done with a major emphasis on staying healthy.
The Lions were able to accomplish their preseason goal in a healthy manner, making the 2012 preseason a success in my mind. While the team didn’t look as...
Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith is questionable for Sunday's game against St. Louis due to an ankle injury.Fantasy Spin:With Jahvid Best on the shelf and Mikel Leshoure suspended, Smith is the Lions' best option, but the team will likely use Keiland Williams as well.
As Matthew Stafford’s level of stardom grows, he’s going to need to become more comfortable in front of the camera. Now, we know that he’s more than comfortable chucking deep balls to Calvin Johnson and hitting Brandon Pettigrew over the middle. And the guy is smooth and 100% class during interviews. What we didn’t know was if Stafford could work his way through a...

Matt Stafford showed what he was capable of when he stayed healthy for a complete season in 2011. 5,000 yards and 40 TDs sounds like a breakout season to me. Kid Rock is obviously a big Detroit Sports Fan so of course posing with it’s sports stars is a very cool thing for all involved.
