GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Kevin Kolb lost his job and with it, probably a lot of confidence, too. But if he did, he didn't show it Sunday when he was pressed into action for the Arizona Cardinals. John Skelton, who beat out Kolb for the starting quarterback job despite making just $500,000 compared to the $20 million the Cardinals have already invested in Kolb in a little more than a year, injured his right ankle late against the visiting Seattle Seahawks. After he was carted off the field amid much concern from his teammates, Kolb rolled back into his old role and guided the Cardinals to an improbable 20-16 victory at University of Phoenix Stadium. Kolb completed six of eight passes for 66 yards and a go-ahead, 6-yard touchdown to Andre Roberts with 4:59 left to play. "He is a gunslinger and he's always been like that," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. "He came in and was shooting from the hip and did a great job." Kolb looked dialed in, as if he had been...

I’ve been well put on the record here on the Pigskin Report in my beliefs that Kevin Kolb, despite playing for my beloved Alma mater at the University of Houston, is not a starting quarterback in this league. But after starting Sunday as an overpaid backup and finishing as an unsung hero, he has the chance to prove me, and many others, dead wrong.
After getting beat out for...
There's good news and bad news for Arizona Cardinals fans. On the bright side, the Cardinals got the win in their season opener against the Seahawks. On the down side, the Cardinals' quarterback situation is still up in the air.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Adrian Wilson had an agenda when he reached the postgame podium Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium.
I want to talk about Kevin Kolb, Wilson said. Lets talk about how poetic that was.
Those who watched the entirety of the Cardinals 20-16 victory over the Seahawks might have chosen a different term. But Kolbs relief effort in place of injured starter John...
As if the quarterback situation in Arizona couldn’t get any more uncertain, it did when John Skelton went down with what’s being called a low-ankle sprain. Now, Kevin Kolb gets another chance at being the starter.
Each NFC West squad fought to the last minute on Sunday, but only two would taste sweet victory. NFC West beat man Brandon Burnett breaks down the Week 1 action.
For at least a few magic moments, these were Kevin Kolb's Arizona Cardinals once again.
Booed by a share of the home crowd as he took the field following an ankle injury to John Skelton, Kolb heard nothing but cheers after he engineered the winning touchdown drive against Seattle on Sunday.
Just how long he will be Arizona's No. 1 quarterback is an open question.
John Skelton's tenure as the Arizona Cardinals' starting quarterback didn't last very long. Skelton, who beat out Kevin Kolb in the preseason to earn the starting gig, suffered an ankle injury on Sunday in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks. According to ProFootballTalk.com, that low ankle sprain will keep Skelton out for 2-4 weeks. That also means that it's likely that...
Phoenix, AZ. We are now less than two weeks away from the Arizona Cardinals regular season opener, and the team has still not stated who their QB will be on September 9th. The decision should come any day now, as Kevin Kolb, John Skelton and Cardinals fans are all eagerly awaiting the news. Whoever it ends up being, the question that Arizona followers should really be asking...
The Arizona Cardinals have announced that starting quarterback John Skelton will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a low ankle sprain that he suffered during the team’s season opening win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Skelton went down after a less than stellar performance in his first three quarters of play, and he has to be the lest bit worried that even when he does come back...
Kevin Kolb replaced injured John Skelton and led Arizona on the deciding touchdown drive, throwing 6 yards to Andre Roberts for a score with 4:59 to play, and the Cardinals held on to beat the Seattle Seahawks 20-16 on Sunday.
Aided by two pass interference penalties, Seattle drove to the Arizona 4-yard line in the final seconds. But rookie Russell Wilson threw three straight incompletions...
Kevin Kolb is back as the Cardinals starting quarterback, at least for the next two weeks, with John Skelton sidelined by a severely sprained ankle. ProFootballTalk.com reported, citing sources close to Skelton, he would miss 2-4 weeks. Kolb will start Sunday at New England and in Week 3, when the Philadelphia Eagles are at Arizona. Kolb was acquired by the Eagles in July 2011...
The Arizona Cardinals have been picked by many experts to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. Their basis is just, they say the Cardinals will struggle because of their long QB battle this offseason that resulted in John Skelton eventually beating out Kevin Kolb. Now that the team has their [...]
