Although it’s evident the Saints don’t feel the same, at least one of Drew Brees‘ receivers have gone to bat for the record-setting quarterback, who remains locked in a contractual battle.
During Saints OTAs Thursday, Lance Moore told reporters that Brees “deserves the world” — or, more appropriately, the title of highest-paid QB.
“He’s done things that have never been done before,” Moore said, via NFL.com
Fair enough. Brees has shattered records, eclipsed milestones, and even brought a Super Bowl championship to the once-embattled city of New Orleans during his time in the Big Easy.
It’s not surprising Moore would feel this way, being one of Brees’ favorite guys on the field and a player who (luckily) broke into the league as a member of the high-octane offense.
However, Moore’s pleasantries only carry so much weight, and his opinion — no matter how justified — will certainly not sway the front office into suddenly backing up the Brinks truck just because it’s what Brees
