Cleveland Browns had a need at the MIKE linebacker spot and bringing back one of their own in free agency made too much sense.

Not only did the Browns want Anthony Walker Jr. back, but he also wanted to be in Cleveland too. One of the reasons was that the team and himself had ‘unfinished business’.

“At the end of the day I’m happy to be back, and we have a lot of unfinished businesses I’d say,” Walker stated on a recent appearance on 92.3 The Fan.

Me myself personally, I have a lot to prove. That’s my mindset right now and what we’re going to take care of this year.”

Walker played in three games last season before suffering a torn quadriceps. The year before, Walker put together 113 tackles in 13 games.

“For me, the biggest thing is winning. Putting myself in a position to help my team and go to a team that’s built to win. You know I’ve been in Cleveland for two years now, I think we have everything that we need. We have the pieces, we got the foundation that we need, now we just need to put it all together.”

Last season after the season-ending injury happened, Walker was praised for staying around the team. Instead of staying home during the games like many athletes do when recovering from injury, Walker was there throughout the season.

“For me, leadership is not something that you only do when you’re playing. You do it every day, you do it on a daily basis, even in the off-season,” Walker explained.

Walker stuck around and felt like it was his job as a leader to do. Everything that came with the injury was not easy, as Walker pointed out it was his first major injury.

“You got to pretty much learn how to do everything all over again.”

Throughout the offseason, Walker has been working on rebuilding the muscle on the quad and getting back to himself. Those things will be vital if the Browns want to take care of that ‘unfinished business’.
