No player enters the FOX America's Game of the Week between Dallas and the visiting New York Giants with more mixed emotions than Cowboys inside linebacker Dan Connor. Connor is excited about getting the chance Sunday to make his first Cowboys start (4:25 p.m. ET kickoff). The circumstances, though, have made him sick to his stomach. Connor is replacing the injured Sean Lee, who is more than a teammate. The two became friends eight years ago when Lee took a recruiting visit to Penn State and spent time at Connor's apartment. Lee returned the favor during the offseason when hosting Connor at his house while the latter was taking a free-agent visit with the Cowboys. "We had some beers, talked a little football, a little Penn State and had a good time," a smiling Connor told FOXSports.com. The conversation turned glum earlier this week when Lee called Connor with news that he would miss the rest of the season because of a toe injury serious enough to require surge...

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is worried about his team's upcoming match-up with the New York Giants because of injuries, saying, "we wanted all hands on deck."

Sports Illustrated players poll names Tony Romo 2nd most overrated player in league

Ah, let the criticism continue. Sports Illustrated recently conducted a poll of 180 real, live NFL players and asked the oft-wondered question of who is the most overrated player in the NFL. #1 was no surprise. Garnering a whopping 34% of the vote was the illustrious Tim Tebow. Our only question is how can a player that gets no respect as it is be overrated? Do people truly believe...

Cowboys lacking explosiveness on offense

It is difficult to find trends of success through 6 games from this Cowboys' offense. In week 1, they did many things very well and looked balanced and competent. Since then, the Garrett-Romo offense has been anything but consistent, with a horrendous performance in Seattle, near absence against Tampa Bay, a turnover machine versus Chicago, and then a power-running team against...

Dallas offense stuck in neutral

1. The Cowboys Offense isn't Coming Back Tony Romo, Miles Austin, Jason Witten and DeMarco Murray are very good players, and Dez Bryant is decent, but a combination of remarkably bad playcalling and a weak interior offensive line likely will prevent the Cowboys offense from being anything more than average in 2012. Jason Garrett's playcalling is both predictable against...

Cowboys' Vickers a vanishing breed

Lawrence Vickers knows he is a rare breed. In prior decades, it would not be uncommon for an NFL team to carry two fullbacks. Now, some clubs such as the Detroit Lions don't have even one on their 53-man roster, as H-backs and sixth offensive linemen fill blocking roles. Vickers, though, has that job with the Dallas Cowboys because the franchise is committed to the position...

Romo: Low scoring result of poor execution

IRVING Aside from a 29-point outburst in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the Cowboys have struggled to score points. On Sunday, they'll face a New York Giants team that has scored at least 30 points on three separate occasions and averages 29.3 points per game. So why haven't the Cowboys been able to hit the 30-point mark? They met or exceeded that total five times last...

Cowboys rule out RB Murray vs. Giants

The Dallas Cowboys ruled out starting running back DeMarco Murray for Sunday's game against the New York Giants, ESPN Dallas reported Friday. He has a sprained foot. Murray's backup, Felix Jones, is questionable with a bruised knee. He was limited in Friday's practice. If Jones cannot start, Phillip Tanner will replace him. Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware missed...
