Auditions for the 2013 Raiders are underway. Coach Dennis Allen has made it clear that while every effort will be made to win the last three games of the season, there will also be a heavy emphasis in seeing some of the younger players to see how they fit into the club's future. For that matter, the veterans will be watched closely as well. The two most notable veterans who may be wrapping things up in Oakland are punter Shane Lechler and defensive tackle Richard Seymour. Lechler is in the final year of a four-year contract that paid him $16 million, the most money ever paid to a punter. Seymour's contract will also allow him to void the remainder of the deal and become a free agent. Given the age of both players and the money it would take to keep them, both could be playing elsewhere next season. The Raiders are 3-10, have lost six consecutive games, and an organization that has already undergone sweeping change can expect more house-cleaning following the se...

Raiders could end up letting Shane Lechler walk in free agency
There’s a chance the Oakland Raiders could let punter Shane Lechler sign with another this offseason. The reason for this speculation is the fact that fellow punter Marquette king was placed on injured reserve.
Very rarely is a player placed on injured reserve when they were signed to only hold down a spot for a player that was out with an injury (like what King did for Lechler...
Darren McFadden is not a bust yet
Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden is having another injury filled season and every analyst is starting to bring out the bust label again. It started over the 2010 offseason when McFadden had two lackluster seasons in Oakland and McFadden showed them in 2010 he deserves the title of featured back. Then 2011 came in to smack him down again and 2012 has the bust haters coming...
Raiders coaching staff leaning toward playing Terrelle Pryor
It sounds like the Oakland Raiders will finally give Terrelle Pryor a shot to play. Raiders coach Dennis Allen expects QB Terrelle Pryor to get playing time against the Chiefs. It’s the third straight week the Raiders have claimed they’re going to take a look at their No. 3 quarterback, but he’s yet to play a snap. Now entering a game where they may conceivably compete, Pryor...
Rolando McClain back with the Raiders… as a backup
Two weeks ago, it looked like Rolando McClain’s days as a member of the Oakland Raiders were over. After being held out of two straight practices, many believed that the former 8th overall pick in the 2010 Draft was about to be released. The Silver & Black instead decided to suspend the linebacker due to “conduct detrimental to the team”. [...]
Raiders Expect To Give Terrelle Pryor Some Playing Time Against KC
Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen mentioned that he expects QB Terrelle Pryor to see some playing time against the Chiefs this weekend, via the Contra Costa Times.
Pryor reportedly has a “set of plays to run” in both of the team’s last two games, but he was never brought into the game.
At this point in the season, the Raiders may as well see what the kid can do, given...
Raiders Might Let P Shane Lechler Walk Away
Raiders punter Shane Lechler, 36, is in the final year of a four-year, $16 million contract signed in 2009 that made him the highest-paid punter in the NFL, Jerry McDonald of Bayareanewsgroup reports. He's scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent.
Coming into the season having had surgery on his nonkicking leg, Lechler has only of late begun to show the form that has made...

Raiders DT Richard Seymour Will Become A Free Agent Following The Season
Vic Tafur reports that Raiders DT Richard Seymour will become an unrestricted free agent following the conclusion of the 2012 season.
Oakland restructured Seymour’s contract back in March to free up some additional cap space, but by doing so they voided the remaining four years and $30 million still remaining on his deal.
Seymour, 33, has been hampered by a hamstring injury...

The Raiders’ only remaining home game right now is against the Chiefs and their last chance for a win, as they have to go to Carolina and San Diego and I can’t see them winning either of those games. I have them in the 31st spot because I think they lose to the...
Raiders DT Richard Seymour has contract voided, will become a Free Agent at seasons end
The Raiders had a hard time getting under the salary cap heading into the 2012 season. One big reason they were able to do so was the restructuring of defensive tackle Richard Seymour’s deal.
When the deal was done in March, it was announced as a five-year extension worth $37.5 Million that saved the team roughly $7 million for the season in cap hits. What wasn’t announced however...

Seymour never wanted to be a raider (recall the hold out after the trade?) I saw fans calling him a leader and Raider Nation fell in love with him for smacking Big Ben in the face. Truth be told Seymour is just as bad as Sapp was in Oakland. Seymour got fat, didn't wanna practice, and collected or "stole" a paycheck every week from the Davis family. Now his knees are shot and will probably retire. Complete bust in oakland and and a police report should be filed b/c the Pats fleeced old Al out of a first round pick for this spare tire having zero.
The raiders don't need to clean house they need to burn it down and rebuild from the foundation up.
1983 was almost 30 god damn years ago. So please shut up about Just Win baby.
