Mike Vanderjagt, the most accurate kicker in the history of the NFL, hasn’t been heard from in several years. What is he up to these days?
The Colts’ “idiot kicker” is now the proprietor of an Italian restaurant in Marco Island, FL. Yahoo’s Post Game details the plight of the former Indianapolis Colt and West Virginia Mountaineer, who, at the age of 40, could certainly help an NFL team. Like, for instance, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who play in Sunday’s Super Bowl.
But “Vandy” does not seem to have serious interest in returning to the NFL, citing a bruised image stemming from Peyton Manning’s “idiot kicker” comments in 2003. Still, he knows he could still kick in the NFL and is mulling a comeback.
