Since the late 1990s/early 2000s new stadium boom, the NFL has slowed down a bit with new places for the 32 teams in the league to play. MetLife Stadium, home to the New York Giants and New York Jets, is the newest current stadium, and it opened in 2010. San Francisco will be the next team with a new stadium, and the franchise recently announced a naming rights deal with Levi Strauss & Co. Head coach Jim Harbaugh and GM Trent Baalke celebrate the franchise’s new stadium name by wearing pairs of Levi’s. Despite the name, by now people know that the stadium is going to be built in nearby Santa Clara, California. The 49ers came to an agreement with Levi’s for a 20-year, $220 million deal, with a five-year extension option as well.
