Sports Injury Alert:
Wide receiver Nate Burleson remains sidelined with the broken forearm he suffered a few weeks ago. He aims to return this season, however anytime before November is unlikely.
Calvin Johnson has once again been limited in practice with a knee issue. While he is probable to play in Sunday’s game, his effectiveness will be tested as he continues to recover from this significant injury. It doesn’t help that he will be facing Leon Hall, who is one of the best in the business.
Joique Bell has also been limited in practice with what is an “extremely painful” rib injury. He has done his best to prepare for a tough matchup against a stifling Bengals defense. It is likely that Bell will be a game-time decision but I wouldn’t be surprised if he missed the game. If he does, Mikel Leshoure will have to step up in order to spell Reggie Bush.
Linebacker Ashlee Palmer (ankle), and cornerback Rashean Mathis (groin) were both limited in practice this week but are probable for the game. Safety Louis ...

We know he’ll play; we just...

Joique Bell didn’t want to talk about his bruised ribs after practice Friday so he grabbed a black marker and a blank sheet of paper and he wrote about them instead.

Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) at Detroit Lions (4-2)
These two teams are about as evenly matched as two teams can be. They are 9th (Lions) and 10th (Bengals) in my Power Rankings. They have the same record (4-2). The Lions have outscored opponents by a few more points on the season (+22 vs. +10), but the Bengals have played a slightly tougher schedule, as the Lions’ opponents are a...
