Calvin Johnson was listed on the Lions' injury report Wednesday with a foot injury and missed practice, but he returned to practice Thursday and will start Sunday's game at San Francisco.

The nature of his injury isn't clear, nor is it considered serious.

Johnson finished the game against the Rams and didn't appear to require any post-game treatment. He was on the field with the rest of the team Wednesday, though he did not practice. He didn't have any type of brace or wrap on the foot and he was moving around seemingly fine.

The Lions aren't saying whether or not rookie receiver Ryan Broyles will be active this week against the 49ers. Most likely, he will not.

Even though the Lions will throw early and often against the run-stingy 49ers defense, Broyles hasn't shown enough to be more of a threat as the fourth receiver than tight end Tony Scheffler.

"Coming off the surgery (Nov. 21, ACL), I can't be as consistent as I want every day," said Broyles, the team's second-round pick. "Some days I have to take it slower than others. I am just trying to do as much as I can to keep improving and to get on the field."
