The Lions travel to Minnesota as they look to get their first win of the year.? The Lions are 13.5 point underdogs and will be without starting QB Jon Kitna.? Kitna, who was pulled from the game against the Bears, will miss the Vikings game with a back injury.? Dan Orlovsky will get his first start. Kitna reportedly injured his back during the first half against Chicago.? He was pulled at halftime and didn't practice all week.??Kitna visited a back specialist and it is anyone's guess what happened while he was there.??He refused to talk to the media about the injury.? He said he wouldn't be able to answer any questions truthfully.? Who knows what that means?? Is he healthy enough to play and getting benched anyway? At any rate, it is good to see Orlovsky?get his first start.? The advantages Kitna has in?experience are offset by?his lack of arm strength, his tendency to hold on to the ball to long, and his lack of pocket presence.? It was time?for Kitna to sit,?even if he was healthy enough to play.? Time to see if Orlovsky and Drew Stanton are capable of playing in the NFL. Orlovsky has been riding the pine, developing, in Detroit since he was drafted in the fifth round in 2005.? The second half of last week's loss was the first extended action he has had as a?Lion.? He got banged up against the Bears and will be battling a sore ankle and knee as he makes his first start.? Last year's second round pick, Drew Stanton, will?be the back up. It won't be an easy task for Orlovsky as he tries to lead the Lions to their first win.? It is time that he gets his chance as a starter.? He has a much stronger arm than Kitna?which will open up the field.? He has had plenty of time to learn the game from the sidelines.? Finally he will get a chance to show he belongs on the field.?
